  1. I defend soundguy's right to say things like this in the back room, as wrong as he may be.
  2. So what's on your mind? Tell us about your beef with the ISRA.
  3. in 36 hrs? opposition to the Health Care Right of Conscience Act (SB1169 HFA2) has garnered 50000 witness slips in opposition, and got at least some mention by state media. Rich Miller quoting Steve Maxwell: * The opposition is very small, but very well organized and intense… I’ve never seen this before. Nearly 30k people went online and filled out a witness slip to oppose stronger vaccine mandate powers, and they did it in less than 24 hours. Several anti-vax groups are organizing on Facebook and directing people to fill out witness slips. pic.twitter.com/rgpwy6YkSI — Mark Maxwell (@MarkMaxwellTV) October 26, 2021 Saying "The opposition is very small, but very well organized and intense…" is like saying mostly peaceful. This was the bill to gut the Right of Conscience Act such that you have no Right of Conscience. The hearing was today and the witness slip count still going up. https://my.ilga.gov/Hearing/WitnessSlipInfo/133801?hearingId=18832&legislationdocumentid=172397&printerfriendly=True

  5. Not the job of 2A orgs. People will sure comment on it though. Since then, there has been an even more egregious case that the Cook Co SAs released everyone on.
  6. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-09-30/jpmorgan-says-texas-gun-law-blocks-bank-from-muni-bond-deals The largest U.S. bank says it’s being shut out of underwriting municipal-bond deals in Texas after the state enacted a law banning government work with banks that limit business with the firearms industry. Due to the legislation, JPMorgan Chase & Co. won’t bid on business with public entities in Texas, a key market where the bank underwrote $3.6 billion of municipal debt sales in 2020. Texas-based borrowers sold more than $58 billion of bonds in 2020, the most of any state after California, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. As part of bond offerings, borrowers often hire banks ahead of time and pay them a fee for underwriting the sales.

  8. If you are an ISRA member, consider this your chance to bring your concerns to ISRA leadership when they show up at these meetings. I did. I have. I will continue to do so. Whether or not you are an ISRA member, attending meetings like this is more for the benefit of the attendees, not the ISRA.
  9. I was there for this. Please everyone go next month and show your support.
  10. That's a response we repeated every time we had the event and he would show up. (which was every time.)
  11. That's Thom Menard, the ICHV lobbyist at the time, and I think the youth might one of Pfleger's adopted sons. That's Colleen Lawson, plaintiff in McDonald v Chicago, in the sundress. That might be her husband David, another plaintiff, behind Menard. It was really hot out whenever we did this, and we gave away 500ml bottles of ice cold water. Someone asked me what we should do about Pfleger, I suggested that we offer them water, which they forced themselves to refuse.
  12. It was IllinoisCarry and ISRA working together. We also had support from the Heartland Institute and Ralph Conner. The best, the absolute best, was getting the permit to march around City Hall. Second to that was the look on the Sgt's face when after we told him we were gonna march around City Hall, we showed him the permit.
  13. I bet a real one has a serial number on the outside of the box.
  14. To me it looks like the SIG SAUER is reproduced with a photographic process, a loss of sharpness, and a little spread causing less space between the letters.

  16. For best results have a square avatar. If your avatar is taller than wide, it will get cropped to be square. If you must have an avatar that is not square, pad your image with space (whatever color you want, maybe even transparent) in order to have a square image.
  17. Mexico sues US gun manufacturers over arms trafficking toll https://apnews.com/article/business-mexico-caribbean-gun-politics-8ed1a6e046e635d94f2ce61716752f7a MEXICO CITY (AP) — The Mexican government sued United States gun manufacturers and distributors Wednesday in U.S. federal court, arguing that their negligent and illegal commercial practices have unleashed tremendous bloodshed in Mexico. The unusual lawsuit was filed in U.S. federal court in Boston. Among those being sued are some of the biggest names in guns, including: Smith & Wesson Brands, Inc.; Barrett Firearms Manufacturing, Inc.; Beretta U.S.A. Corp.; Colt’s Manufacturing Company LLC, and Glock Inc. Another defendant is Interstate Arms, a Boston-area wholesaler that sells guns from all but one of the named manufacturers to dealers around the U.S. The Mexican government argues that the companies know that their practices contribute to the trafficking of guns to Mexico and facilitate it. Mexico wants compensation for the havoc the guns have wrought in its country. the irony continues here
  18. Essentially nothing. Private sellers can, if they want, go to an FFL to check the buyers' FOIDs, or continue to use the web site, same as today. It just sounds good to JB's voters, now that he's announced he's running for re-election. But the FOID check is only good until Jan 2024. Then the FFLs get all the business. The FFLs don't want that business. Think about it. The bill's sponsor also sponsored the Gun Dealer Licensing Act that put half the gun dealers out of business.
  19. Stoneback. Stoneback is throwing all kinds of shade on Willis.
  20. I think this is the thread winner. Richard Daley Jr. sued for the multiple purchase records, and I recall that he won. He has my name. My very first purchase was a multiple, and in retrospect I would not have done that.
  21. I was gonna get snarky and suggest that maybe the ACLU was "neutral" on the issue, but I read the article. Regardless of the content of the podcast, The ACLU's intern wrote that the 2nd was anti-black, and the ACLU published it.
