  1. I have a cousin who happened to be in Springfield recently. He stopped at ISP headquarters and got help applying for his CCL renewal. I guess that's the quicker option for people close enough to the capitol.
  2. I'm assuming this is regarding the "registration is pending" error? I've sure ran into it myself
  3. This was a lot to skim through, especially on a cell phone. So bare with me if the answer to my question is already stated above. But.... What about what about record expungements and sealing? Whwtever the crime leading to the denial/Revocation was is eligible to to be expunged/sealed unless it was animal cruelty, sex crimes, DUI, or domestic violence. Not living in Illinois will void the foid and ISP. And an expunged record shouldn't be flagged in the NICS, right? Not sure about sealed records...
  4. Lucky for him it was in 2017, so he's gonna try again next year
  5. I know a guy who got a denial letter due to a 2017 DUI... which goes to show how JUST ONE DUI within 5 years preceding the date of the application, will get most people denied due to the fact that in the vast majority of DUI cases, the offender will go through some sort of court-ordered treatment. I've never seen one that didn't. Some people get so caught up in the whole "not more than one DUI" part, that they forget about the court ordered treatment for the one they got.
  6. Good luck to him. And we need to, as a whole, push for an expanded federal criminal records expungement program to avoid these kinds of situations.
  7. I'm sure plenty of guy are reading this thinking "boy am I glad they didn't pull MY juvenile stuff up". If I were in your shoes, I'd consider leaving the state. It's going downhill fast anyway.
  8. Once again, I'll be offering my Veteran's day special to all active and former military service members in the Decatur/Macon County area... Anybody who needs the 8 hour course can get with me on Veteran's Day Nov 11th, for NO CHARGE(must provide copy of DD214)... Just bring your own ammo, and the rest is on me. No gimmicks or ulterior motives. I come from a huge military family, and this is just my personal way of showing gratitude to them and all the men and women who put their lives on the line to keep this nation safe. Class will be conducted by G3 Training Academy in Decatur IL on November 11th from 8am to 5pm. Shoot me a private message for details and registration info.
  9. I was doing some research online and read that gun rights arent automatically restored after a felony has been expunged. Anybody know about this? Or is it just an "apply and see what happens" thing?
  10. Is there anything a person whose felonies have been expunged or sealed needs to do to obtain a FOID or ccl?
  11. I found this through research on behalf of several other people. How would they go about appealing or petitioning the courts?
  12. a few years back I called local LE, SA and ISP to get clarification. They all referred me to the next, citing an inability to offer legal advice....I finally brought it to an attorney that I worked for as an intern, he told me that a judge could deem it "unconstitutionally vague" and order lawmakers to go back to the drawing board and provide clarification themselves.
  13. The same way the people who actually wrote the law cant tell us what "partially concealed" means.
  14. If by screwed you mean screwed into free carry compliments of Illinois' incompetence Free carry? I'm under the impression that I have to stop carrying AND teaching until I get the new license in the mail
