  1. My wife needs a replacement FOID card as she lost hers.  It may be that her FOiD  card is expired, she hasn't received a notice that the expiration  date is approaching.   I went to the ISP website but did not find anything.

  2. It got to my district and legislator even when I clicked on a district I knew wasn't mine and entered my address.
  3. Maybe MollyB can help you, or you could contact your state rep or state senator since you are getting no response.
  4. I went by a small gun shop in a business office in my area yesterday. Their sign with their gun shop name is down. I'm sure they are out of business. I'm sure that another one operated out of an auto shop that has done transfers for me is as well.
  5. It is still 30 days for new FOIDs, They have 60 days for renewals and FOID remains active during that time. So are some people actually getting their first FOID card in 30 days from when they applied?
  6. I wonder how many people have moved to the Chicago area in the past from another state with a firearm that they never use but just keep for an emergency. They never get a FOID card because in the past they had to register their gun every year. There was a yearly fee too, correct? I had a friend at my church who went to a gun class put on by a local police department. He had moved here from another state with his Glock handgun. He had no FOID, though I recommended he get one. The officer in charge of the training asked if I would bring his handgun to the class, which I did. He never did get his FOID but a couple of years later moved out ot state.
  7. Requiring someone to do the FOID application online seems to discriminate against those that don't have internet access. Not everyone has a gun shop that will do this for them. It is bad enough that Illinois makes you pay to exercise a constitutional right.
  8. If you are in Southern Illinois you could go to Murphysboro Police Department they will do it without appointment. Warning they charge $5 for doing prints. Yes 5 dollars. They won't fuss because the prints are for a LTC either.
  9. On post #79, I mentioned David Lawler in Marion. I thought I should mention that he represented my son in a case involving his wife, at the time. The charge was domestic abuse, he pulled a cell phone out of her hand and it was bruised. He got the charges reduced and my son was able to keep his job as a corrections officer at Menard Prison.
  10. My wife's FCCL arrived yesterday and also a letter saying her FOID card number was changed from 8 numbers to 10 and the new FOID card will be arriving within 5 days.
  11. My wife's FCCL application was submitted on 1/16 , without prints, and it arrived in the mail yesterday. Issue date was 3/22 . 96 days from application to issue, if I counted correctly. He also got a letter saying she will be getting a new FOID card and her FOID number has been changed from 8 to 10 digits. The FCCL number is 10 digits starting with 15. I'm wondering if the new FOID card number will be the same a the FCCL number?
  12. I guess this is the last topic 45Superman posted as I don't see anything else on content for him. Has it really been 8 years since he posted? Doesn't seem like it. If you look at his profile you see he has over 9000 posts. Is he still in Illinois or the St.Louis area? He was around when Illinois Carry was getting started. BTW, My state rep is now Terry Bryant, (was Mike Bost, now my congressman) she's pro-second amendment as is my state senator David Luechtefeld. Anyone else have a change in their state reps?
  13. Your link to the ILGA website gives you a link where you get to the Illinois Board of Elections website, if I was more computer literate I'd have made a direct link to it.
  14. I'm curious what is the quickest anyone has gotten their FCCL without prints lately? I just got my wife's application in last week.
  15. FarmHand357, Thanks for talking with David Lawler about joining the forum.
  16. David Lawler is willing to take self defense cases supports concealed carry. He works in the Adam B. Lawler firm in Marion Illinois, his uncle's firm I believe. He did give me cards to hand out to anyone who wants someone to contact in case of emergency. He said he checks for messages even on weekends. The firms phone number is 618-993-2222 and his email is dlawler@adamblawler.com
  17. I'm not Molly, but I'll give you my opinion anyway...the prime determinant of whether or not it is a GFZ is ownership. If the county fair is held at the county-owned fairgrounds (as in most states and counties), then it falls under the "under the control of local government" provisions, and the question of special use or special event permits does not apply. If the location of the county fair is not governmentally owned, then you have to consider the permits. I know this makes no difference to county fairs in Illinois, but my wife and I attended the Rock County Wisconsin fair last year and it was posted.
  18. Yes. Only federal prohibitions apply to the interior of the vehicle. I thought that the prohibition was for taking a weapon (pocket knife with 2 1/2 inch or longer blade too) into a federal facility. What I read said a facility is a building or part thereof owned or leased by the federal government. So the parking lot of say the federal building in Carbondale should not be off limits. There is a sign on the door but none on the lot.
  19. With the primary election this week I think it is worth noting that polling places are not always off limits. I realize they are often in city buildings, churches that might post, schools, fire stations, park buildings, and buildings that are private property. I guess there could be some differing opinions on whether a building is "under the control of a unit of local government" while it is being used as a polling place.
  20. Oh, Oh, the backup memory battery fell out of the printing machine into Nem's envelope now there will be a power outage and people will be complaining that they aren't getting their licenses in about 60 days. Nem, You need to send the battery back to the ISP before disaster strikes.
  21. Wow! You were approved in 1 day Yeah but it costs a lot more for that. But if you contribute enough to the right reelection campaign fund! (purple) Sorry typo there, applied 1/9 Original post corrected. Don't want anyone to think any hanky panky is going on, not in Illinois. I guess a news team is on the way to ask me how I got approved in one day when some who applied in December are still waiting.
  22. Applied 3/9 Whoops meant 1/9 Non-instructor with prints App. #244xx Approved 3/10 Stamped 3/10 Received 3/13 about 3 PM in the Jungle, Jackson County
  23. How come when I go to the mylga.gov link above all I get are the bills I did a witness slip for last year. Still can't figure out how to do the current ones from the dashboard.
