	I have a new to me Springfield Ronin in 10mm and want to upgrade the GI style guide rod and spring to a full-length guide rod and new recoil springs.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Problem is all the guide rods I see offered specifically indicate they're for .45 or 9mm applications but say nothing about 10mm.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Would a standard full length guide rod for a .45 and 20-22# springs work in the 10mm?
</p>

<p>
	<strong>Vender Arguments Against Shipping to Chicago</strong>
</p>

<ul>
	<li>
		<strong>Referencing Illinois Statute 430 ILCS 65/13.1</strong> [<a href="https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs/documents/043000650K13.1.htm" rel="external nofollow">https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs/documents/043000650K13.1.htm</a>]<br />
		With the new Public Act 102-538 [<a href="https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/publicacts/fulltext.asp?Name=102-0538" rel="external nofollow">https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/publicacts/fulltext.asp?Name=102-0538</a>] is effective August 20, 2021. This references the possession and transportation of ammunition by a holder of a valid FOID card. It states the State has exclusive authority over “handguns and ammunition for a handgun” and “the transportation of any firearm and ammunition by a FOID holder….” That is about carrying/transporting, not commercial shipment by a seller via common carrier to a consumer address.<br />

	</li>
	<li>
		<strong>Referencing Chicago Municipal Code 8-20-100(b)</strong><br />
		In the past, Chicago Municipal Code 8-20-100(b) by way of Chicago Ordinance SO2013-6015 [<a href="https://chicityclerkelms.chicago.gov/Matter/?matterId=C86D1C2B-E00D-ED11-82E3-001DD80693B4" rel="external nofollow">https://chicityclerkelms.chicago.gov/Matter/?matterId=C86D1C2B-E00D-ED11-82E3-001DD80693B4</a>] read “No ammunition may be sold or otherwise transferred within the city, except through a licensed weapons dealer, or as otherwise allowed by this code.”<br />
		<br />
		<u><strong>CURRENTLY</strong></u>, the <strong>Chicago Municipal Code 8-20-100 has been amended as of June 25, <u>2014</u></strong>, and NO LONGER CONTAINS this language [<a href="https://codelibrary.amlegal.com/codes/chicago/latest/chicago_il/0-0-0-2644532" rel="external nofollow">https://codelibrary.amlegal.com/codes/chicago/latest/chicago_il/0-0-0-2644532</a>]. This removed the restriction to purchase ammunition within Municipal Code 8-20-100. [<a href="https://chicityclerkelms.chicago.gov/Matter/?matterId=410CA95A-E00D-ED11-82E3-001DD80698CB" rel="external nofollow">https://chicityclerkelms.chicago.gov/Matter/?matterId=410CA95A-E00D-ED11-82E3-001DD80698CB</a>].

		<strong>FOID Act: express authorization to buy ammo from out-of-state and have it shipped</strong><br />
		430 ILCS 65 (FOID Act), Section 3(b-5) provides:<br />
		<em>Any resident may purchase ammunition from a person within or outside of Illinois” if shipment is by U.S. mail or an authorized private express carrier.</em><br />
		<em>The buyer must provide the seller a copy of a valid FOID or valid CCL, and an Illinois driver’s license or Illinois State ID, prior to shipment."<br />
		Shipment address restriction: the ammo “may be shipped only to an address on either of those 2 documents.” </em><br />
		<br />
		That is the clearest statutory “green light” for an out-of-state vendor shipping ammunition to an Illinois resident (including a Chicago address) so long as the destination address matches the FOID/CCL or IL DL/ID.<br />

	</li>
	<li>
		<p>
			<strong>FOID Act: “transfer of firearm ammunition” framework</strong>
		</p>

		<p>
			The same section continues with:
		</p>

		<p>
			<em>a statement that “provisions … regarding the transfer of firearm ammunition shall not apply” to specified exempt persons. </em>
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			This isn’t a separate “shipping authorization,” but it confirms the FOID Act is directly regulating ammunition transfer (which is what a shipment sale is), and it anchors the shipment rule above inside the broader transfer framework.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>
	</li>
	<li>
		<p>
			<strong>FOID Act preemption clause (supports uniformity for handgun ammo / FOID holder transportation)</strong>
		</p>

		<p>
			If the vendor’s rationale is “Chicago has stricter rules,” 430 ILCS 65/13.1(b) states the State has exclusive authority over:
		</p>

		<p>
			<em>“handguns and ammunition for a handgun,”</em> and <em>“transportation of any firearm and ammunition by a FOID holder,”</em>
		</p>

		<p>
			and that inconsistent older local restrictions are invalid as applied to FOID holders.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			Again: this is not itself a shipping-permission clause, but it is a supporting statewide-uniformity provision that helps counter a “Chicago-specific” justification—especially where the product is handgun ammunition.
		</p>

	This stuff goes on for a while. If a few negligent users shoot themselves, it's the firearm's fault, according to some prominent anti-gunners. The article likens the P320 cases to the Remington 700 recall a few years ago, among other things.

	As I age, my eyes are getting harder to use for fast focus. So earlier this year I decided I would earnestly try and master a red dot sight. I have used them before but had not come to love them like some have. A couple of things I learned along the way.
</p>

<ul>
	<li>
		I like green more than red
	</li>
	<li>
		they are big but not as bulky as I thought they would be
	</li>
	<li>
		cleaning them can be a PITA
	</li>
</ul>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	With all of that in mind, I added a Holosun EPS carry to my Glock 43 carry pistol. I liked it and shot very well with it. Putting close to 1k rounds made me feel really good about it. I did add a red dot to my home defense pistol. A month later, when I took it to the range, I was annoyed that it did not work. I replaced the battery and it still did not work and had to send it back to Holosun who took two months to send me a replacement, but they did! I have since added suppressor height sights to that gun as a backup.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE!
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I recently scored a HK CC9. I am just starting to use it at the range to gain some proficiency with it, and so far, I am not thinking about adding a RedDot to it. Hmmmmm. Was it just my sight selection on my Glock 43 that was the issue? I had upgraded to a popular brand's tritium sights. But the stock blacked out read and white dot tritium on the HK are easy for me to acquire and get on target.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Just curious about other folks' preferences and journey with the popular optical sighting systems.
</p>

	So I realized I no longer like my carry pistol after using it in a defensive pistol course. <br />
	Wondering if anyone else has run into this after actually doing some drills with your firearms, and realizing it might be time for a replacement or trade in.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	For me I realized:<br />
	The mags are too small to grab, orient, and quickly reload. Maybe it’s my Simpson fingers, not cartman fingers. It’s a single stack 8 round capacity.
</p>

<p>
	The mag release button sucks.
</p>

<p>
	The slide release sucks,
</p>

<p>
	I think I would like using a normal size pistol, that is probably banned in Illinois because our politicians are just plain stupid!
</p>

<p>
	And I learned I really done like IWB holsters so I might need to relocate to an open carry state. <br />

</p>

<p>
	Now I have a whole list of <span class="ipsEmoji">💩</span> that a concealed pistol needs to meet other than fits the hand well and is “concealable”. <br />

	While my Glock 19 has been 100% reliable, it just feels "off" to me and my Wife couldn't get a good grip on it. I sold it and bought an Echelon compact. Got the last one at D5 ranges in Marengo for a great price. I picked it up today and went straight into their range. Man o Man, what a treat to shoot. There is really no negatives. Great grip texture, great sights, great features, outstanding trigger and very accurate. My new night gun and cool month carry. Might even be able to carry it in warmer months with cargo shorts/belt and T shirt. We are really past the "Oh my, can someone with a keen eye spot me carrying" anyway. If you have a chance to shoot an Echelon of any flavor, I bet you enjoy it. Few pics and some comparisons.

	What can I say? It followed me home from my LGS. I wanted to add this caliber to my rimfire collection and sadly found that I lack the digital dexterity to easily load/unload the cheapie Heritage Rough Rider SAA in 22/22WMR I recently purchased and will soon be selling off somewhere. (Thanks arthritis-lol) All the YouTube vids and other reviews I found pretty much raved about the Walther, touting its ease of use, great ergonomics, accuracy, impressive fireball and bang all with very low, controllable recoil. A quick range trip this morning confirmed all the positive reviews. This thing is great fun to shoot. My aging eyes prefer red dots, so I picked up a budget? ($106) Cyelee CT2 off Amazon which mounted easily to the optic ready WMP and it too does not disappoint.  A new shootin' iron is always a nice way to start a new year says I.

	I  just attempted to reorder something I've bought several of through Amazon over the years:  Hogue Rubber bantam grips for K/L frame revolvers.  Suddenly, I've not only been warned that the item cannot be delivered to my address, but the app refuses to allow me to purchase it from my cart, where there is also a prohibited item alert.  This is a new level of crazy!  Since when are revolver grips banned ANYWHERE???

	I am looking for an OWB holster that is mostly or completely covered that will slide onto a belt. Im not interested in a Sneaky Pete but more like a old luger holster. I do carry a modern pistol when I am on my rural property and even with a shirt over it, it does get pretty filthy.
