I had to create a whole new account, but was able to use the same email and password, and then migrate previous witness slips over. However, once logged in, I can't just click on the IL Carry Oppose link and have pre-filled info; I have to at least enter my name again and then my browser, not the Illinois system, will prefill much of my info. What a pain; more cumbersome except that you can oppose the original bill and the HCA during the same entry...

I routinely used UPS or FedEx to ship unloaded firearms to gunsmiths for trigger and other work and they were able to ship them back to me directly. Then, suddenly this changed and FFLs had to become involved, which made it very cumbersome to get non-local gunsmithing done. Does this mean that I can now us the USPS both ways legally?

Nevermind; I missed the part about this being a joint motion. IANL so wondered if by Raoul initiating this and the judge agreeing, even with Morse's concurrence does this still mean that granting the motion is potentially bad for us?

My local FFL, dealing out of his home, has given up because of this new law.

He's very knowledgeable on 2nd Amendment issues in Illinois and, for us in the southern part of the state, is an excellent option as an emergency contact in the event that any of us are, God forbid, involved in a self-defense shooting. I'm using Safari and 10.6.8 too. Make sure you're using the most recent version of Java. I also use Firefox and sometimes one works but not the other. If Safari hangs up, try Firefox, and vice versa.

I don't believe we should abuse this new system; as far as I can tell, once your name is on a slip, you're done, even if you have more than one email address. It's my understanding that sometimes names of proponents and opponents are read in the committee meeting and it seems to me that it would strike the members as somewhat bogus to hear the same name from the same town read multiple times. That having been said, I see no problem with asking friends and family who don't have time or access but are willing to give you permission to use their names and email addresses so that you can submit witness slips on their behalf.
