  1. This is why we needed total preemption. Now some jurisdictions may pass AWBs, others may not, some may pass transportation regs, etc. Now when I drive to the range in Wisconsin that I use to shoot my ARs, I'll have to check the laws of every town I pass through. Lovely.
  2. I hope this spells the end of Chicago's silly ordinance and CFP.
  3. Just saw the ruling. Big win for us. Congrats to all whose tireless efforts made this victory possible. On a side note, Chicago had their new ordinance ready basically within a day of the McDonald ruling. Anyone think that the state will move that fast? Or will they have their answer on the 180th day after today?

  5. Gura sure does have a great writing style. I love the opening line in his brief: "The only thing that Defendant City has managed to render moot, even before it was even filed, is its motion to dismiss the case for mootness." As a lawyer, I know that most judges love a well-written brief and can even appreciate some well-delivered snarkiness.
