Anyone having trouble

I have no problems. I only have to log in when I'm messing with browser settings. Usually, I never have to log-in, it does automatically every time I enter this site.

I've been having trouble the last couple weeks staying logged on. I used to be able to stay logged on for days at a time, Now I sometimes can't stay on for 10 minutes.

Do you have any cookie cleaners, or cookies disabled on your computer?

I am not sure about this site but on many Vbulletin type sites occasionally I have to delete my cookies and re enter my login and password when using Internet Explorer. If I don't I have to type in my login and password every time I go to some sites. Firefox Browser is much better if you are interested in trying that. You might be surprised how much better things work if you delete your temporary internet files and cookies from time to time. There are oodles of proggys out there that do this task but if you choose one, be careful what you delete... cookies and temps are always ok to remove.. When it comes to registry cleaning, make sure you know what you are doing or just don't do it. If you want to delete cookies and temps manually you can do it in the "tools" then "internet options" in Explorer. Good Luck.

No cleaners and not disabled. I cleared the cookies(on the advise of admin) and temp files and it seems to be better now, tho I still have to log in every day.

I have had the problem before, and then it just seemed to go away, then came back again. No new programs, etc. Just one of those gremlins I guess.

Lately I've had to log in every time I access the site. Since it first occurred about the time it was announced the site format would be changed, I kinda took it for granted it had something to do with the new format.

I run a 64-bit system and the security is a bit different. I'm not an expert, so I dunno what's happenin'.

I've been having trouble too. I can stay logged in overnight or over the weekend and get bumped off just going between forums or opening a thread just to read replies.

Same here...

No change, but it really isn't a big deal... just two more clicks of the mouse, which amounts to maybe 1 second.

OK, I made a change on the board settings. Let me know if you still have problems staying logged in.

Whatever you did, it worked!!

I haven't had the problem since.

Thanks, Blaster

Let me recommend Mozilla Firefox to everyone... Its much better and safer browser than Internet Explorer!

Using it, but have both available.

I'm thinking that the 64bit system that I use and the security involved probably has something to do with it. As I stated before, it really isn't a big deal. As fast as I can do 2 mouse clicks, I'm in.

It's still acting goofy for me. I was writing a reply to another post and went looking for a news article to back it up. Found it and finished the post a few minutes later hit the post button and was logged out.

On the m&p fourm I've been logged in for weeks. Shut down the computer and all when I go back it has me logged in. For some reason it doesn't remember me here.

Coach how does your 2 click thing work. I have to type in my login and password every time. Kinda a PITA.

Do you have a box that pops up (when you log in) and asks you if you want to have the computer remember the password? You may want to check your settings.

No windows box pops up, just get the forum logon page. I've been logged in since the last post, so it seems to be one of those gremlins that come and go.

I the past, when I would access Illinoiscarry.com, I was automatically logged in and sent to the "Forums" page.

Since the new foremat, when I access this site, a window opens that askes me to register or log in (pink box). When I click the "login" button, another smaller window opens that contains my username and PW (******), with a login button that I must access.

...or is that the way it works for everyone...other than RD???

If you check the "Remember Me" box on the login screen and still have to manually enter your screen name and password the next time, it's most likely a system setting on your end. It's possible your browser or firewall/anti-virus software is configured to delete your history & cookies every time you close the browser.

I can't think of anything else that would cause that behavior.

The "Remember me" box is checked, and I don't have to manually enter username and PW evertime, but I do have to click on the "Log me in" button everytime, which I didn't have to do before.

As I say, it's no big deal. 2 mouse clicks and I'm in.

If it doesn't work that fay for anyone else, then it must be my system security, which I will not change.

In my old system, when I would do a "housecleaning"...clean the hard drive, defrag, delete temp files in windows, there would be "tons" of cookies to delete. Now, there are never any!

I know that this is an old thread, but I found a solution that is working for me.

I previously bookmarked www.illinoiscarry.com/forum and had to log in EVERY time. Once I clicked Log In, I seemed to be logged in (95% of the time) right away, and I could click View New Posts from the log in page. Sometimes, I still had to log in at that point to be really logged in. I don't know if that makes sense. I even expressly allowed cookies from this site through Firefox security and my firewall.

Well, today I noticed that when I was viewing the forum homepage, the URL looked like: http://www.illinoiscarry.com/forum/?&&&CODE=00

I changed my bookmark to reflect that, and I have not had to log in yet. So, if you are still having problems, look at the homepage URL once you log in and use that URL as your bookmark. Seems to have fixed my problem. I don't know if yours will be the same as mine, but take a look.

Thanks for the info. I was having the problem pretty regular until I went out of town (with the laptop of course). When I got back home I logged in and haven't had the problem since. I'm guessin some kind of IP address problem through comcast and my wireless network.

Now it is not working for me. Darn it. Just when I hoped I had it figured out. I knew that would happen once I shared it.

You guys should have a look at your settings under "Internet Options" within the Tools section.I noticed one time when I was deleting temporary files and browser history that you could set it up to do this everytime you went offline;and this included cookies.Just a thought.

I don't have to go offline. I can leave this site now and immediately come back and I have to login.
