I have a few AK kits sitting around, I have been debating modifying the rear trunion to accept an AR style pistol buffer tube so I could use one of those SIG arm braces... Is there anything that would prevent me from doing so in IL?

Obviously I am not looking for problems, but If it's legal I shall have one...

They were selling one on attached to an AK at GAT a little over a month ago. That was the first time I ever heard of it. I was looking at it and thought it was a SBR. The salesman said it was totally legal.

shot a 300 blackout Ar with one legal in concept. Get a picture shouldering it and I think you'll be arrested.

That's a question I've discussed with many other people. IDK. I really don't know.

I am almost positive that the BATFE has already ruled this mod to be legal.

It is legal. For now. Better buy a few before they change their minds!

I plan on building a 10" ar using one of these instead of jumping through the hoops for a sbr.

One of the complaints about the SIG model on an AR pistol is the weight.....AK is heavier still! I'd like to hoot one of the 'pistols' with one though!

Well the legal aspects still annoy me, although I don't really believe you would be arrested for using it that way. If GAT sells them that way I feel a little better.
