jfd287 Posted June 20, 2013 at 01:49 AM Posted June 20, 2013 at 01:49 AM I'm looking for a scope, nothing really pricey, I'm planning on putting it on a mossberg 22 tactical. The rifle was only a couple hundred dollars so I don't want to spend that much $$. Any suggestions?
TyGuy Posted June 20, 2013 at 01:50 AM Posted June 20, 2013 at 01:50 AM The Cabelas line or Redfield are cheap and perfectly suited to a 22.

jfd287 Posted June 20, 2013 at 05:15 AM Author Posted June 20, 2013 at 05:15 AM Suggestions for a scopehttp://illinoiscarry.com/forum/index.php?/topic/39015-Suggestions-for-a-scope/page__view__findpost__p__514106 Ok first of all I was at rinks. We all know how dark it is there. I had the rear sight all the way up and I was still shooting about an inch low at 7-10 meters. My grouping was great. Maybe a scope with greater range of travel or maybe due to the low light conditions, I may have not been able to get the front sight centered in the rear sight. Either way, I, was consistsnt in my sight picture.

I don't have a mossberg but on all my ar style rifles elevation is adjusted by the front sight post. The inch low is attributed to the height of sight over bore, you don't want to be zeroed at 10 meters unless you plan to do all your shooting at 10 meters.A scope on a carry handle is going to set kind of high. I have a cheap primary arms micro dot on my sw mp 15-.22 and my daughter and son in law were banging the steel at 100 and 140 yds. with it the other day, and they haven't even shot anything much. http://dslyecxi.com/images/arma/ttp/sight_vs_bore_line.jpg http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/a/a8/TargetShooting3.gif
jfd287 Posted June 20, 2013 at 02:41 PM Author Posted June 20, 2013 at 02:41 PM I didn't think about the height difference. I'll have to shoot it out at a farther distance to zero it in. I should be shooting high at a shorter distance correct?
jfd287 Posted June 20, 2013 at 07:39 PM Author Posted June 20, 2013 at 07:39 PM So, how did it shoot? 150 rounds of Remington LRN mil surplus went through with no problems. The magazine is hard to load without the help of the little loading tool they give ya after about 12 rounds. Took of the plastic to clean it but stopped after I saw I needed to punch out two pins on the receiver. Kinda a PITA to punch out the pins. So I didn't take the reciever apart to clean it. Fun little gun. Can't wait to shoot it outside.
