RockerXX Posted June 19, 2013 at 10:08 PM Posted June 19, 2013 at 10:08 PM Without seeing more video of the incident that brought the police over there in the first place I'm not going to pass full judgement on their actions, but it does appear they arrested someone for peaceably assembling at an event because he had an contrary opinion... I expect we might see more of this from Bloomberg... http://www.huffingto...html?ref=topbar

C0untZer0 Posted June 19, 2013 at 10:37 PM Posted June 19, 2013 at 10:37 PM but it does appear they arrested someone for peaceably assembling He laid hands on a law officer - can't do that. When he grabbed the police officer that's when things went South for him...
RockerXX Posted June 19, 2013 at 10:47 PM Author Posted June 19, 2013 at 10:47 PM He laid hands on a law officer - can't do that. When he grabbed the police officer that's when things went South for him... Like I said without knowing what happened before that point, I'm not going to pass judgement that quick... Yes laying hands on an officers is out of line, but that doesn't negate the officers potential actions in the event prior to that point in the incident...
Capt_Destro Posted June 19, 2013 at 11:18 PM Posted June 19, 2013 at 11:18 PM HP comments make me sick.
Retiredguns Posted June 19, 2013 at 11:44 PM Posted June 19, 2013 at 11:44 PM Even though he just placed his hand on the Officer's arm, the police will not tolerate that. I know a little about tense situations and I can't blame the police for being extra cautious. In the video it appears that they went a tad overboard though and the noisy crowd with phones and cameras everywhere didn't help.
Snyderman Posted June 20, 2013 at 01:18 AM Posted June 20, 2013 at 01:18 AM I can't get the video to play; but from what I remember he went on the stage and stood right next to the speaker. That is a step beyond heckling. Maig's hired security guards escorted him off the stage and reported him to the police.
TyGuy Posted June 20, 2013 at 01:21 AM Posted June 20, 2013 at 01:21 AM ...comments make me sick.Foxed it for you.
BillR Posted June 20, 2013 at 01:24 AM Posted June 20, 2013 at 01:24 AM All he had to say was.....Don't taz me Bro.....LOL Actually the cops over reacted. He should get a lawyer and ,make a few bucks at their expense.

That is a step beyond heckling. Maig's hired security guards escorted him off the stage and reported him to the police. The second video on the page I linked shows no stage, just a sidewalk demonstration with a folding table and podium setup in front of the bus, in fact I see no barriers at all even though most of the people are standing several feet away, he choose to stand a little closer to voice his opinion and although one might find that annoying, I personally don't feel that it's an illegal act worthy of arrest or even removal at a peaceful demonstration... No more annoying then the ladies with the megaphone... It also appears there might be 'security' or an officer standing right behind him at this point doing nothing to remove him...
IL-Logical Posted June 20, 2013 at 02:02 AM Posted June 20, 2013 at 02:02 AM So basically he exercises his first amendment right in support of his second amendment rights, and they violate his fourth amendment rights? Notice a pattern emerging?
vezpa Posted June 20, 2013 at 03:38 AM Posted June 20, 2013 at 03:38 AM Lets get behind the guy, he's on our side, out there fighting for us, no matter what went down. .

I'll reserve judgement until more information is known.

BillR Posted June 20, 2013 at 04:21 AM Posted June 20, 2013 at 04:21 AM I did not see any hitting or spitting... only police who clearly had a bad attitude and disagreed with this man supporting all of our 2nd amendment rights.
TyGuy Posted June 20, 2013 at 04:23 AM Posted June 20, 2013 at 04:23 AM The only video I saw was him getting arrested. I haven't seen what lead up to it. Is that video out? Did I miss something?
TyGuy Posted June 20, 2013 at 04:26 AM Posted June 20, 2013 at 04:26 AM Ahh, see I didn't watch this one. The one I saw earlier today was after he was being withheld. Yeah, seems like he doesn't need to be arrested for touching a police officer in a non threatening way, but IDK what the law says. I'm still not ready to hitch my horse up to his wagon.
C0untZer0 Posted June 20, 2013 at 03:42 PM Posted June 20, 2013 at 03:42 PM I think he was telling the officer to "turn around and go back.." or something like that when he grabbed the officers shoulders. He didn't just touch the officer with a finger or something he had the officer by the shoulders and he was tying to turn the officer around. I don't know too many police officers that are going to let people lay hands on them, if this protester is too dumb to know that, that's his problem. The arrest was justified IMO.

I find it unfortunate that if an officer were to do to a protestor what this man did to the officer there would be no problem. I feel we are all second class citizens to the politically connected and police.

The guy waked up to a speaker whom started to harass and yell into the speaker's microphone. We may not agree with what someone has to say, but crapping on someones 1st amendment rights makes this guy, and everyone on the pro-2nd amendment side look like a bunch of jackasses. There is more footage found in the video below. He wasn't arrested for heckling, he was arrested for putting his hands on an officer, then fighting them when he was being put under arrest. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oa8NeY3_7ig
Booxone Posted June 25, 2013 at 11:28 AM Posted June 25, 2013 at 11:28 AM I disagree with the use of a taser in that situation. Isn't a taser supposed to be used as a non lethal option to using a firearm? Would the officer have used a gun to subdue the subject if he didn't have a taser? Why didn't they try to take out his legs, use pepper spray? There have been too many deaths from tasers to use it that liberally because they don't want to do their job.
TTIN Posted June 25, 2013 at 01:08 PM Posted June 25, 2013 at 01:08 PM Did anyone notice what the anti said near the end of the video? Something to the effect of people shouldn't get so emotional? I just had to say "WHAT?"
Craigcelia Posted June 26, 2013 at 09:22 PM Posted June 26, 2013 at 09:22 PM Actually the cops over reacted. He should get a lawyer and ,make a few bucks at their expense.Like crap. The guy got what he deserved. Period.
