Be prepared for some more good news

I want to be very careful to not reveal something before it is announced, but there is a county contiguous to Peoria and Tazwell that will soon be making an announcement about CC in that county. That announcement will be made in tonight's county board meeting.

Get out your green ink for that map.

Maybe later tonight I will be able to reveal more than I am right now. I am pretty excited to say the least.

This is how CCW we default in Illinois.

I know it is a good thing for most, but the more counties that do this the less chance we have of ever seeing CCW in COOK.

Thats just sad when the States attorneys and sheriffs are waving their middle finger at Crook co.... Everyone has had enough...

I hope 80-90 counties do this by the end of July. It will make Lisa look like a troll at SCOTUS. Will make Quinn think hard about a veto. And what will the state police do? Haul you to a county that a SA. will put you on trial? This is not a midle finger to Cook Co. Its a notice to Quinn and Madigan to quit playing hot potato with this to their political advantage in the 2014. primary. And it will make Cook County's claims harder to defend

Just my 2 cents

EUREKA — Include Woodford County among those in Illinois that will not prosecute law-abiding gun owners for carrying concealed firearms.

State’s Attorney Greg Minger stated that intention Tuesday night during the Woodford County Board’s regular meeting. Minger’s declaration brings his jurisdiction in line with Peoria and Tazewell counties, as well as at least three others statewide.

“Basically, all we’re saying is we’re not going to prosecute a law that’s been held unconstitutional,” Minger said following the meeting.

A federal appeals court invalidated Illinois’ concealed carry ban and mandated creation of a law that will allow the practice, which is permitted in every other state. The General Assembly has approved a measure, but Gov. Pat Quinn has yet to sign it.

Late last week, Tazewell County State’s Attorney Stewart Umholtz stated he will stop prosecuting concealed carriers who possess valid Firearm Owner’s Identification cards. Minger said he supported Umholtz but wanted to check with Woodford County law enforcement before he issued a statement.

“I do not have any issue with responsible citizens wishing to protect themselves from harm,” Minger said in prepared remarks to the board.

“I believe everyone can benefit from basic gun-handling and safety courses — whether you have had guns in your home for 50 years or you just held your first pistol last week.”

If and when Quinn signs a concealed carry law, Minger’s decision is subject to change, he said.

Minger said he will prosecute felons and others who aren’t supposed to carry firearms. He also won’t overlook crimes that might result from gun use, such as reckless or aggravated discharge of a firearm.

I hope Kendall gets it soon.

Me too. Its ashame that Eric Weiss wont even respond to an email. After the meet and greet I had last night, Weiss no longer will get a vote from me. Baird4sheriff.com

Eric Weis...I don't even live near Kendall but my buddy lives in Montgomery. I'm no fan of Mr. Weis after what he did to my buddy's brother (still sitting in jail on bogus charges) and what he (as in the ASA at the behest of Weis) tried to do to one of my other friends (he was assaulted, twice within 45 minutes by his future sister in law and then charged with battery for defending himself).

From my readings on this site it has become apparent to me that you seem to know A LOT of folks that have had run ins with the law

I am saying this tongue-in-cheek

Yea. Well my buddy who lives in Plano, his fiancée's drunk (and very large..she has like 75 lbs on him) sister attacked him in his bedroom, threw him up against the wall, shook him like a rag doll, and all he could do to defend himself was grab a lamp and smack her across the face with it. He called the cops right after, then decides he can't be inside his house so as hes walking to the door, she comed up behind him, grabs him by the back of the head and slams him head first into one of the locks on the front door. It was one of those hotel syle metal bars that swings across and it was partially swung open and his eye went right into it. He could've lost his right eye. 45 minutes later cops show up, first one doesnt wanna arrest anyone, second one rolls up and arrests him for battery, but not her. She never filed a written statement because she doesn't remember doing it. He was gonna take it to trial if they didnt give him supervision and the ASAs kept screwing with him telling him hes not eligible for supervision only supervised release until they realized he would take it to trial so he got supervision. He only took supervision because he didn't want to go through a trial, even though he would've been acquitted or received a Nolle Prosequi dispo because the "victim" had made no written statement plus she had put "I'm so wasted" as her Facebook status before this happened.
