bornhunter04 Posted June 17, 2013 at 07:34 PM Posted June 17, 2013 at 07:34 PM http://store.magpul.com/product/MAG233 "PMAG 40 AR/M4 GEN M3 Shipping Now! In a move to enhance safety for responsible citizens, military, and law enforcement alike, Magpul Industries is now shipping the PMAG 40 GEN M3. Several years in the making, the PMAG 40 was delayed while GEN M3 technology was perfected to insure the highest quality product and full compatibility with the USMC M27 IAR. With the same compatibility as the 30-round GEN M3, the PMAG 40 provides 10 more rounds of capacity before requiring a reload—which could be a lifesaving difference. This new "safe capacity" offering is ideally suited for those who may need to respond to multiple threats without extra rifle magazines carried on their person, or for military members looking for an extra margin of safety in high-tempo operations. Just 2 1/8" longer than the 30-round version, the PMAG 40 is just as reliable, durable, and compatible as the PMAG 30. The optimized magazine spring can handle feeding at cyclic rates over 1150 rounds per minute, so the extra 10 rounds of safety comes with the ability to more than keep up with platforms such as the M249 SAW and the M27 IAR. Designed for and tested in the most demanding environments. Available and suitable for all responsible civilian and military applications. Available now from select retailers and distributors - they are already on the way to those locations today, with full production underway. Also, to beat the July 1st deadline for ownership in Colorado, a small portion of the first batch of PMAG 40s will be available from the Boulder Airlift Program for direct sale to CO residents, regardless of previous orders. Limit 2 per customer for direct sales. CO Residents order Here: Boulder Airlift"
Scots Posted June 17, 2013 at 07:58 PM Posted June 17, 2013 at 07:58 PM Let's be sure to track this so we know when we can buy them online!!!
Skorpius Posted June 17, 2013 at 08:05 PM Posted June 17, 2013 at 08:05 PM Outstanding. They did mention in a reply on Facebook that this was in development in 2010 and they were waiting for implementation of the GEN 3's before releasing, hence it was not done out of spite (though it feels just as good). Now how do we keep Todd from buying them all up?
Druin99 Posted June 17, 2013 at 08:21 PM Posted June 17, 2013 at 08:21 PM This will be nice if the msrp is at the $20 mark. Though, there has been the following for quiet a while too... http://www.mwgco.com/ar-15_accessories/category/40_Rounder.html
03rev Posted June 17, 2013 at 08:31 PM Posted June 17, 2013 at 08:31 PM I have a few 42 round pro mags I bought at the NRA show last year. I think they were around $8.
vezpa Posted June 17, 2013 at 09:07 PM Posted June 17, 2013 at 09:07 PM Would a 40 round magazine now fit the definition of "high-capacity" for an AR rifle now since 30 was considered "standard" capacity? .
Livewire18 Posted June 17, 2013 at 09:09 PM Posted June 17, 2013 at 09:09 PM This is great. I hope they stay at $20 msrp. Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
miztic Posted June 17, 2013 at 09:16 PM Posted June 17, 2013 at 09:16 PM Now how do we keep Todd from buying them all up? Keep sending him beer

RockerXX Posted June 17, 2013 at 09:20 PM Posted June 17, 2013 at 09:20 PM For most things I'll stick to the 30s, 40 or more just starts to get in my way on the AR platform, heck 30s get in the way sometimes... Still nice to see options out there though...
RoadyRunner Posted June 17, 2013 at 09:28 PM Posted June 17, 2013 at 09:28 PM Hmm. 40 rounder on an AR pistol. Nice.
03rev Posted June 17, 2013 at 09:30 PM Posted June 17, 2013 at 09:30 PM For most things I'll stick to the 30s, 40 or more just starts to get in my way on the AR platform, heck 30s get in the way sometimes... Still nice to see options out there though... I have only used the 42 once because its too big and heavy. 99% of the time I use 20 round mags.
03rev Posted June 17, 2013 at 09:31 PM Posted June 17, 2013 at 09:31 PM Hmm. 40 rounder on an AR pistol. Nice. Why stop there? Get yourself the 100 round surefire mag
