Cross is only part of it - the other half is Hatcher - also pro-2A.

Make it known to them that this is a bad thing to do.

I certainly have. I plan on being there - is there a good 'talking points' memo I can use?

I've sent an email to Tom Cross, Kay Hatcher and Jim Oberweis - all pro-2A and representing the Oswego area. I hope that they will contact the Board members to express their concerns as well.

The Chicago machine has been having Dems move out to the collar counties and infiltrate the councils. Greg Hose in Downers Grove is one of them. He was just elected to the council, very unfortunate. Just look where he moved from, Chicago. These people need to be exposed and voted out!

just emailed em all asking if they have included a budget int his bill to litigate possible lawsuits. I also asked about the amount of crime caused by so called assault weapons

I'll be there

Any chance we can convince Todd to come and speak? It's just up the road from him.

I dont think it would take too much convincing. Yorkville is just up the road.

I would wonder if A ) the carry bill requires home rule status before passing AWB (within the grace period) and B ) If Oswego is home rule. Last I checked it wasnt.

Population over 25k is automatic home rule. According to the listing on cyberdrive that happened in 2008.

I used to live in DG. So glad it's not home anymore.

Not that I would desire to bring a rifle with me

It really depends how they define 'Assault Weapon'. The Chicago way causes the ban to sweep up many firearms that are not 'black rifles'.

Yes, you are right. I guess I am so used to the term "assault weapon" in the media I immediately think of those deadly black rifles.

I posted to fb. Have friends in Oswego there that are politically involved. They are cross posting and getting a number of folks revved up on this. E-mails already being sent and they are making plans to attend the meeting.

It looks to be in response to the mayor's caucus letter - the proposal [is] the chicago AWB template.

I'm in Downers but haven't heard anything about an AWB. Have you heard otherwise?

Based on my experience, you don't have much of anything in Montgomery haha. I have a buddy from college, known him for 12 years (wow, I didn't even realize that) who just moved from Boulder Hill to Montgomery proper (literally across the river) and his parents are friends with Tom Cross. I just can't see Oswego passing this. I can't speak for Oswego but Kendall County just seems like a very diverse community. Rural and suburban. Some loon trustee probably proposed this, I'll call my buddy and see if he can talk to some people and maybe get the scoop on what's going on here.

Oswego is pretty far removed from Chicago and has its own pro2A representation. Blaming an Oswego gun ban on Chicago is sort of ridiculous in my opinion.

Just as the Cali libs are moving to other parts of the west, like CO, the Chi libs are moving to the suburbs and bringing their politics with them.

Look at the collars. Most of them used to be solid R's, but now not so much.

I hope the NRA really holds all these people to account for this; we all need to donate so the NRA can run adds even in these piddly little city council races. Every one of these anti gunners needs to know; you try to infringe upon our right you WILL lose your job and you will NEVER be elected again.

Guys -- I am told it will come up as a matter of discussion, I'm on it as it is next door to me. However, I have to be in Springfield that night and can not attend the meeting. The Chief is against any ban as an FYI But please do show up.
