Bowfisher Posted June 15, 2013 at 04:09 AM Author Posted June 15, 2013 at 04:09 AM This sounds really interesting. Are there any decent places to stay around there? My wife and I thinks it sounds like a nice mini-vacation opportunity. The DeWitt County Sportsman Club is located adjacent to 5000 acre Clinton Lake. Bring your boat. Great fishing. Camping is available on the Mascoutin State Park 300 camp sites about 8 miles away on the North side of the lake. About 8 miles S.E.away is Weldon Springs State Park with 75 camp sites. Clinton is only 6 miles away from the DeWitt Sportsman Club with 3 motels. SunSet Inn is the nicest. Try one of their fantasy suits. Several places to eat in town. Nothing real fancy, just good food. 25 miles North or South of Clinton is Decatur or Bloomington with numerous motels and lots of places eat.

Keith Posted June 21, 2013 at 07:53 PM Posted June 21, 2013 at 07:53 PM Will there be a range open to the public, and can we bring guns and ammo to shoot? They don't list the range closed as the earlier events but it says details later
Bowfisher Posted June 22, 2013 at 06:59 PM Author Posted June 22, 2013 at 06:59 PM Will there be a range open to the public, and can we bring guns and ammo to shoot? The two ranges at the club will be closed for the Preparedness Expo. One will become a large parking lot and the other will be full of tents and exibits. The Dewitt County Sportsman Club is a private range with open membership. Cost is only $50 a year and two work days. One each side of the club are two private camp grounds. The DCSC backs up to Clinton Lake which is a 5000 acre lake and and has 300 camp sites at Mascoutin State Park on the North side of the lake. The club has several members from the Chicago and Northern Illinois that use this area as weekend get-a-way.
