Molly B. Posted June 6, 2013 at 08:55 PM Posted June 6, 2013 at 08:55 PM We were very glad to see Madison County State's Attorney Tom Gibbons, release a statement recognizing the right of law abiding citizens to carry in Madison Co.. We would like for our members to forward or deliver a copy of State's Attorney Gibbon's statement to their own county state's attorney and encourage their state's attorney to publicly join with Madison County in recognizing our rights. Please use this topic to report back the responses you get. If enough state's attorneys join in with Gibbons, we will start a map just like we did with the Pro 2A County Resolution map. Thank you! cshipley92 Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:03 PM Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:03 PM Already done Molly. Email sent off about 30 mins ago. I'll report back when I hear from him. It would be cool if we could get most of them to do this. I know McClean County did it a while back, but don't know if that SA is still in office or not.
Talonap Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:06 PM Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:06 PM Hmmm, I wonder who the SA is for Cook County? I'm sure Anita would like hearing from me....
TyGuy Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:07 PM Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:07 PM I will as soon as it is posted to the Madison County's SA's website.
skinnyb82 Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:09 PM Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:09 PM Headed home now. I'll print out a copy of it (on some high quality paper) and hand deliver it to him. That way I get some sort of immediate reaction as opposed to an email...even if an ASA reads it. Sent from my SCH-R530U using Tapatalk 2
Livewire18 Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:13 PM Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:13 PM I will as soon as it is posted to the Madison County's SA's website. +1 - just to avoid questions. Sent from my GT-P5113 using Tapatalk 2
THE KING Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:13 PM Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:13 PM I just spoke with the Will County's states attorney's office and I sent them a copy of Madison County's memo. Gave them my name and number and told the nice secretary that I would be more than happy to discuss this with the State's Attorney and requested that he follow suit and do the same thing as Mr. Gibbons did. If I hear anything, I will let everyone know.

Sent from my GT-P5113 using Tapatalk 2 I would call anyway and let them know that you would like them to do what Madison County did. The more people that call the more they will realize that it's not only one person that wants this. I would suggest that everyone that is on here from Will County, call and light the phones up. The Will County state's attorney's office is 815-727-8453. Ask for Cheri Johnson, she is Jim Glasgow's secretary. Very nice lady.

milq Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:21 PM Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:21 PM I have to go by the Wayne County Clerk's office tomorrow so I'm writing a nice letter and will drop it off with a copy of the document from Madison County. I also called SA Valentine in Edwards county since I couldn't find an email for him, I KNOW he's on our side.

Skorpius Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:26 PM Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:26 PM Man, I really have no one to go to in Chicago who isn't part of the problem.
C0untZer0 Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:28 PM Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:28 PM Wow it just sunk in that there won't be any more County resolutions... we actually have a state bill waiting for the governor to sign.
RandyP Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:28 PM Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:28 PM If anyone wants to waste their bandwidth and send anything into Cook County? It's: statesattorney@cookcountyil.gov The head honcho there is Ms. Anita Alvarez, well known champion of 2nd Amendment rights - LOL
Livewire18 Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:35 PM Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:35 PM Emailed and called Will county. Sounds like king and I are the only ones so far... Sent from my GT-P5113 using Tapatalk 2

TyGuy Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:40 PM Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:40 PM I was waiting for some more official confirmation. Now that news stories are coming out I tend to believe it. Unfortunately the SA office closes at 4:30 so today is out the window.
redbuell1203 Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:44 PM Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:44 PM Ok not sure what was done in Madison Co. but my wife is one of the legal assistants for the Iroquois County States Attorney. Does anyone have something that they can link for me to see what happened?
Vitae Drinker Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:46 PM Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:46 PM The McLean county SA who supported carry was only a temp fill in. I'll send an email to the current one.
Livewire18 Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:46 PM Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:46 PM Just an FYI for anyone in Will County - I found this on the ISRA site, so we might be in good position. Will County State’s Attorney, Jim Glasgow, was our guest speaker in April. As having received recent death threats, heunderstands the need for a means of self-defense. Mr. Glasgow believes in the safe and responsibleownership of firearms, keeping them in secure storage away from criminals. If asked to defend a law-abiding citizenwho had used a fanny pack to transport a gun, he said he would consider not charging the accused. He said that he would like to see concealed carry passed. http://willcounty.isra.org/pdf/isra0510.pdf
moparman71 Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:47 PM Posted June 6, 2013 at 09:47 PM I spoke on the phone with the SA for Ford County and he advises that he will not be taking part in this.
