RandyP Posted June 3, 2013 at 02:46 PM Posted June 3, 2013 at 02:46 PM For my fellow vets who will be using their DD214 to get the 8 hour training credit - if like me getting a fresh copy is easier than scrounging thru the files for the 40 year old document - lol - here is a link to the Government's website that will supply you one for free. : http://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records/ You can fill out the request online and then print off a signature page to be either mailed or faxed to the agency. If you prgfere you can also just porint off the request form and snail mail it. Hope this helps someone else.
Sub Hunter Posted June 3, 2013 at 02:50 PM Posted June 3, 2013 at 02:50 PM I had to do this last year and had my copy in less than 2 weeks which really surprised me.
RonOglesby - Now in Texas Posted June 3, 2013 at 02:51 PM Posted June 3, 2013 at 02:51 PM Nice. I still have mine on top of all my other stuff though. my old training jacket, all my schools, etc are all saved. Of course I always was a hoarder of paper work. But I will say I think I am going to take Bud's 2 day class anyway. Been a loooong time since I have had official "training" and a refresher never hurts.
