For my fellow vets who will be using their DD214 to get the 8 hour training credit - if like me getting a fresh copy is easier than scrounging thru the files for the 40 year old document - lol - here is a link to the Government's website that will supply you one for free. :

http://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records/

You can fill out the request online and then print off a signature page to be either mailed or faxed to the agency. If you prgfere you can also just porint off the request form and snail mail it.

Hope this helps someone else.

Nice. I still have mine on top of all my other stuff though. my old training jacket, all my schools, etc are all saved.

Of course I always was a hoarder of paper work.

But I will say I think I am going to take Bud's 2 day class anyway. Been a loooong time since I have had official "training" and a refresher never hurts.

Most guys filed a copy at their local courthouse.

You can get them there for free, plus they certify them, which might be required.
