boog Posted May 25, 2013 at 02:41 AM Posted May 25, 2013 at 02:41 AM I have been thinking about this for a few days now and here is what I want to do for anyone who has taken a Utah ccw class from Carrry Safely. Please PM me the date you have taken the Utah class from us with your name and we will go through our records to verify and we will issue a certification that says you have had 4 hours of firearms training that is approved by another state. That is in HB 2193 so it will at least get anyone 4 of the 8 hours of previous training. I am working on setting up classes that should get the other 4 hours covered at a minimal cost to the folks who have taken our class. More to come. This will also be posted in our blog and on face book. Again please just PM me, we don't to take up space on Illinoiscarry for this.Boog
Scots Posted May 26, 2013 at 12:32 PM Posted May 26, 2013 at 12:32 PM Good idea. I took my 4 hour Utah class at Article II. I sent the certificate to the state of Utah with the app - should have copied it. Are instructors required to keep records for this? I need to call over there and talk to Keith. billzfx4 Posted May 26, 2013 at 01:25 PM Posted May 26, 2013 at 01:25 PM Wouldn't the actual Utah permit be proof of taking the course?
RoadyRunner Posted May 26, 2013 at 01:57 PM Posted May 26, 2013 at 01:57 PM Wouldn't the actual Utah permit be proof of taking the course?I would think they would need to know who gave the course - to make sure the instructor is certified by the ISP to give the training.
skinnyb82 Posted May 27, 2013 at 02:02 AM Posted May 27, 2013 at 02:02 AM Meh the ISP still has to "approve" of the course though. I've done mine and I can get ahold of the instructor any time but 12 hours, still two days' worth.
