There is no cliff and never was one.  June 9th comes and goes, mandate issues, the AG and Union County are enjoined from enforcing AUUW.  You WILL still be arrested and prosecuted under AUUW unless you live in Union County.  So we can either file 100 more lawsuits (I removed Moore and Queen) against each SA for each county because they will NOT be enjoined from enforcing the law OR we get on board with the lesser of two evils.

Hey, you're still here!

If there was no cliff then we shouldn't have used it as a bargaining chip.

Oh, there WAS a cliff.  Without the cliff, we don't get the votes for ANY bill.  But what our side failed to realize is the degree to which Madigan has complete control over the vehicle, as it approached that cliff.  Actually going over it was never a possibility. It was just a matter of what content suited him best.  And I still struggle to the benefit of gutting Chicago gun control, out of the blue.

Listen, the idea of a rifle range to kick the tires on a new AR in Chicago is AWESOME!!

I had a brief email exchange with one of those downstate R's this evening. He's taking the deal.
What does this mean exactly?

Karim, my hurried post left out a couple words critical to conveying my meaning.  I meant that I struggled to see the benefit TO MADIGAN in gutting Chicago's gun control out of the blue.  The ONLY reason that's in there is because he decided it was to his benefit.  No one was even asking for that.  So it has me worried.

Since the vote has now been tallied, it's obvious that he was on board with 2193 Phelps Amendment.

Madigan wanted to show Rahm, Quinn, and Cullerton who owns Chicago.  Not Rahm.

It was a carrot...to get the support he needed...until he pulls the rug out from under us.
Remember who we are dealing with. There is still plenty of opportunity for this to turn
out very bad for us. In dealing with the ILGA...expect the unexpected.

Yup we're just along for the ride now.  My aunt from Indiana just showed up, saw the front page story about this, read it and the entire time she was slackjawed.  I guess that says something...maybe heh.
