snashmcsd Posted May 21, 2013 at 10:17 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 10:17 PM So are we just waiting to see if 997 gets called up for a vote or how does this work?
C0untZer0 Posted May 21, 2013 at 11:13 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 11:13 PM If you seen the movie Ground Hog Day - and you remember what we went through in January, that's pretty much the script. Rahm Emanuel or Quinn will get push for gun control and Cullerton will get Munoz or Kotowski to whip something up or Madigan will get Zalewski and Acevedo to whip something up... gun bans, magazine bans, jail time for law abiding gun owners etc, etc.. We fill out witness slips like crazy and we write to our senators, and representatives and committee members and the bills are defeated and then Rahm Emanuel or Quinn will get push for gun control and Cullerton will get Munoz or Kotowski to whip something up or Madigan will get Zalewski and Acevedo to whip something up... gun bans, magazine bans, jail time for law abiding gun owners etc, etc.. Double-J Posted May 22, 2013 at 01:14 AM Posted May 22, 2013 at 01:14 AM Count, that was Priceless! While I stop laughing for a minute, I see the irony in the above two posts not to mention the sarcasm. You have snashmcsd with 9 posts and you can just feel the "newbie" energy attempting to learn more about what’s going on and become an active part in the negotiations and do what he can to help out and then there is the "Count" with over 3 thousand posts. One can see the frustration with the whole process in his reply and rightfully so. Snash, welcome aboard and as I said before you will need to buckle up as its going to be a bumpy ride. In answer to your question, I think that the Dems are in control and have the proverbial ball in their court. They are going to drag this on until we send up the white flag or an act of god burns the capitol to the ground. One could only hope that we get a good bill with preemption before the deadline.
snashmcsd Posted May 22, 2013 at 02:43 AM Author Posted May 22, 2013 at 02:43 AM I do like the groundhog reference, though wish it wasn't the case. I've been making calls/emailing but cannot believe the amount of games I see you guys reporting here. Thanks to all of you who've been at this for a while. I'm friends with some CPD guys who work in Englewood who are all for CCW here, although they can't talk about it, I wish someone would do a story on that instead of parading out victims families.

Yeah, the fix is in generally speaking about politics in Illinois. You can't win, you can't break even, and when you want to quit, they change the rules. BUT we keep on doing what we do, and eventually the forces of good (US) will overcome the evil politicians. This article http://www.forbes.co...-with-politics/ helps explain why the NRA and IC are effective. May make you less frustrated after reading.
45 whit Posted May 22, 2013 at 03:03 AM Posted May 22, 2013 at 03:03 AM snashmcsd... Posting sometimes reminds me of putting up a target on a crowded rifle range, by the time you get your stuff set up and look at your target...it's already shot full of holes.
