If you seen the movie Ground Hog Day - and you remember what we went through in January, that's pretty much the script.

Rahm Emanuel  or Quinn will get push for gun control and Cullerton will get Munoz or Kotowski to whip something up or Madigan will get Zalewski and Acevedo to whip something up...  gun bans, magazine bans, jail time for law abiding gun owners etc, etc..   We fill out witness slips like crazy and we write to our senators, and representatives and committee members and the bills are defeated and then Rahm Emanuel  or Quinn will get push for gun control and Cullerton will get Munoz or Kotowski to whip something up or Madigan will get Zalewski and Acevedo to whip something up...  gun bans, magazine bans, jail time for law abiding gun owners etc, etc..   We fill out witness slips like crazy and we write to our senators, and representatives and committee members and the bills are defeated and then Rahm Emanuel  or Quinn will get push for gun control and Cullerton will get Munoz or Kotowski to whip something up or Madigan will get Zalewski and Acevedo to whip something up...  gun bans, magazine bans, jail time for law abiding gun owners etc, etc.. We fill out witness slips like crazy and we write to our senators, and representatives and committee members and the bills are defeated and then June 9th finally arrives and most of the state gets constitutional carry while Chicago uses city ordinances to use manner, place and time restrictions to prohibit any type of carry.

Count, that was Priceless!

While I stop laughing for a minute, I see the irony in the above two posts not to mention the sarcasm. You have snashmcsd with 9 posts and you can just feel the "newbie" energy attempting to learn more about what’s going on and become an active part in the negotiations and do what he can to help out and then there is the "Count" with over 3 thousand posts. One can see the frustration with the whole process in his reply and rightfully so.

Snash, welcome aboard and as I said before you will need to buckle up as its going to be a bumpy ride. In answer to your question, I think that the Dems are in control and have the proverbial ball in their court. They are going to drag this on until we send up the white flag or an act of god burns the capitol to the ground.

One could only hope that we get a good bill with preemption before the deadline.
