SAXD9 Posted May 21, 2013 at 07:22 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 07:22 PM My wife finally picked up her new Shield 9mm today. We were waiting months for it. We even got a bonus because the a shipment of ammo just arrived when she was picking up the gun. She was able to get 250 rounds of 9mm and 500 rounds of .22. Good day all around.

SAXD9 Posted May 21, 2013 at 07:33 PM Author Posted May 21, 2013 at 07:33 PM Not sure when we will get to head out and shoot it...maybe this weekend. She has the gun with her, so I will have to wait until tonight to post pics.
patriot1776 Posted May 21, 2013 at 07:34 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 07:34 PM Nice , I'm still looking for one just not that hard lately.
SAXD9 Posted May 21, 2013 at 07:36 PM Author Posted May 21, 2013 at 07:36 PM This particular dealer put me on a waiting list. He got 6 in, and I was #6 on the list. I got a great price on it also. Many shops are adding a market premium to the price. I actually got this one below S&W MSRP.
Blackhawk067 Posted May 21, 2013 at 08:15 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 08:15 PM Nice , I'm still looking for one just not that hard lately. I ordered another .40 Shield from Rinks in Lockport. It's been about two weeks, and they said they expected about a month's wait, so hopefully in about two weeks, but they were goin' for $420.00 over there. All they want is a small deposit on it to put the order in.

They said that they wouldn't be able to even give me a timeline and didn't want me to get anxious. They are honest people over there and have done good by me. Rinks is I think the best shop in my area.I'm gonna have to stop in and see whats up. Maybe they can put on a list now.
Capt_Destro Posted May 21, 2013 at 08:53 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 08:53 PM Last time I went Midwest had some 40 S&W Shields at a very good price. It might be worth checking out or calling.
SAXD9 Posted May 21, 2013 at 09:00 PM Author Posted May 21, 2013 at 09:00 PM I got mine from Curt Smith Outdoors in Belleville. About 3 months ago, they got about 14 in (9 - 9mm and 5 - .40). Last Thursday, the got 6 in (all 9mm). Mine came from Thursday's shipment. He said his supplier is saying that he should be getting some .40's in the very near future. I paid $429 for the 9mm.
Sandman Posted May 21, 2013 at 09:15 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 09:15 PM I think I'd be hard pressed to buy anything in 9mm. In the llast 6 months I haven't seen a single box of shells for them.I've found 357, 40sw, 45acp and 380s but 9's forgetagoutit
bmyers Posted May 21, 2013 at 09:49 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 09:49 PM Nice purchase. I really like my Shield.
Capt_Destro Posted May 21, 2013 at 09:53 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 09:53 PM It's only fair to tell you this.. There is a huge problem plaguing Smith and Wesson Firearms. Their customer service refuses to fix this problem. They seem to multiply every other month.http://imageshack.us/a/img35/6138/1002152w.jpg For some reason all of my guns are Smith and Wesson! I didn't mean for things to end up like that lol. I should get a Glock or XDM to balance things out.. But the CORE series kind of tempts me..

SAXD9 Posted May 21, 2013 at 10:10 PM Author Posted May 21, 2013 at 10:10 PM It was at Curt Smith Outdoors in Belleville. They had 2 of the 250 round boxes of 9mm left this morning. They saved the last box of .22 for me.
