SAXD9 Posted May 21, 2013 at 06:57 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 06:57 PM Some of you have read Todd's update yesterday about the vote tally for SB1002. He was concerned that some of the Republican Senators would flip on this and support it. If you want to know who to call, you need to be on the phone with the 2 Republicans that voted in favor of it in committee yesterday. Contrary to what some people have said, their vote is indicative of their voting intention when it comes to the floor.
wtr100 Posted May 21, 2013 at 07:09 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 07:09 PM Wouldn't that be Senate Minority Leader Christine RadognoSen. Matt Murphy
TyGuy Posted May 21, 2013 at 07:16 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 07:16 PM Where does your info come from?
SAXD9 Posted May 21, 2013 at 07:18 PM Author Posted May 21, 2013 at 07:18 PM Another Senator, who is opposing the bill.
skinnyb82 Posted May 21, 2013 at 07:36 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 07:36 PM Mine opposes it and 183, he's an R Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
wilessiuc Posted May 21, 2013 at 07:38 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 07:38 PM Our minority leader supports a magazine ban? Pretty much sums up the problem with the IL GOP today.
Netechsys Posted May 21, 2013 at 07:40 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 07:40 PM She is my rep, and I am calling. And emailing. And faxing. Unacceptable.
trh53 Posted May 21, 2013 at 07:42 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 07:42 PM Called Senator Radogno's office and expressed my deep disappointment in her support for the bill.
SAXD9 Posted May 21, 2013 at 07:43 PM Author Posted May 21, 2013 at 07:43 PM And Sen. Murphy is the Deputy Minority Leader. If we cannot convince these 2 to change their minds, many other R's may think that it is OK to break ranks also.
TyGuy Posted May 21, 2013 at 07:55 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 07:55 PM Our minority leader supports a magazine ban? Pretty much sums up the problem with the IL GOP today.Where the heck have you been? Riding a motorcycle or something?
agalloch07 Posted May 21, 2013 at 08:02 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 08:02 PM i called them and asked them to oppose it not sure how much good it will do since im not in their district
vezpa Posted May 21, 2013 at 08:10 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 08:10 PM Can someone just tell them how unconstitutional it will be and how the state will have to fight yet another or several more frivolous lawsuits because of it? I mean, lets just say it as it is. .
Matt B Posted May 21, 2013 at 08:12 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 08:12 PM I'm also not in district but I do have a republican senator and rep, so I'll express that if the party drops their support for the 2A, I have no reason to support the party. That's relevant to the minority leader.
Bhawk99 Posted May 21, 2013 at 08:23 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 08:23 PM I do live in her district and she told me recently face to face that she supports all our 2nd amendment rights then she goes and votes for the mag ban. Shame on her for not representing the wishes of her district and instead being a puppet for Madigan, Cullerton, Emanuel and Quinn. It's time for a change.
Ricky Two Guns Posted May 21, 2013 at 08:34 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 08:34 PM We have to keep up the pressure on all the republicans.and remind the turncoats what it means to us come election time.
Arch1GLK Posted May 21, 2013 at 08:38 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 08:38 PM When will our side ever learn! So now Senator K has on his facebook page that he has BI-PARTISAN support for the mag bill.Few of ours vote for it (albeit to move it for a vote) and they use it for propaganda.

Bud Posted May 21, 2013 at 10:55 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 10:55 PM It really doesn't mean much of anything at election time. Three republican House members voted against HB 148 a year ago.. Durlin the Republican Deputy Minority leader is still there. Mathias and Mulligan are gone but not because of their vote but because of re-districting. It's easy to thrown stones at Democrats here but truthfully, there are as many Democrats in favor of a shall isse-no preemption carry bill as there are Republicans. This really isn't about liberal or conservative belief, it's really about machine politics. Don't think think for a minute that Mike Madigan wouldn't switch party affiliation in a moment if he thought it was to his advantage. There isn't two political parties in Illinois, there are two factions of the same calculated criminal conspiracy. Democrats and Republicans in Illinois more closely resemble the Crips and the Bloods but without the overt violence. It's not about political belief and it never has been, it's about power and control.
flw Posted May 21, 2013 at 11:03 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 11:03 PM Sen Tim Bivins is against any mag limits or bans re-confirmed today.
Xwing Posted May 22, 2013 at 12:12 AM Posted May 22, 2013 at 12:12 AM I do live in her district and she told me recently face to face that she supports all our 2nd amendment rights then she goes and votes for the mag ban. Shame on her for not representing the wishes of her district and instead being a puppet for Madigan, Cullerton, Emanuel and Quinn. It's time for a change. Please call her and talk to her. She has voted pro-2a in the past. With enough of her constituants contacting her, I think she will in the future. Those who are in the "middle" and can go either way are those we need to spend every second focusing on. No amount of discussion will turn Acevado and Kotowski to our side. But those who or "sometimes" pro-2a or "often" pro-2a need to be contacted, as many times as it takes!
narcoden Posted May 22, 2013 at 12:34 AM Posted May 22, 2013 at 12:34 AM I've been "redistrict'ed". Not one of the MF'ers will talk to me or return an email. FML I'm dealing with this: U.S. Congressional District #8Official: Tammy Duckworth - DemocratOffice: US Representative Senate District #29Official: Julie A. Morrison - DemocratOffice: State Senator Representative District #57Official: Elaine Nekritz - DemocratOffice: State Representative
bigdiogi Posted May 22, 2013 at 12:40 AM Posted May 22, 2013 at 12:40 AM You left out that dynamic duo in the US Senate, Durbin and Kirk. Talk to the hand.
narcoden Posted May 22, 2013 at 12:42 AM Posted May 22, 2013 at 12:42 AM Well, we all share that mess... But yes. I live in a pocket of suck.
handyflyer Posted May 22, 2013 at 12:55 AM Posted May 22, 2013 at 12:55 AM Murphy IS my representative and I'm p*****. I've been calling everyday expressing my displeasure for his voting on this.
lowrider12 Posted May 22, 2013 at 03:36 AM Posted May 22, 2013 at 03:36 AM Matt Murphy (not to be confused with Matt "Guitar" Murphy) is my senator too
