wtr100 Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:04 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:04 PM ISRA e-mail SPECIAL NOTICE: DO NOT call Senator Kotowski unless he is your Senator, and even then be very careful. Kotowski has a track record of having the State Police investigate and harass people that disagree with him. Has anyone heard of this before?
BigJim Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:11 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:11 PM Don't know if its true, but thanks for the warning.
oneshot Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:11 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:11 PM Good, let's start our own home grown scandal here in Illinois.
mstrat Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:13 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:13 PM Umm... isn't that all the more reason to call? Don't let some two bit state politician bully you with your own police services.
wazzle Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:13 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:13 PM ISRA e-mail SPECIAL NOTICE: DO NOT call Senator Kotowski unless he is your Senator, and even then be very careful. Kotowski has a track record of having the State Police investigate and harass people that disagree with him. Has anyone heard of this before? He is going to have a whole lot of people to investigate south of Chicago. Nobody agrees with him down here.
blazzinbird Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:14 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:14 PM Is he the one who calledisp on Todd?
KingWalleye Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:15 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:15 PM Wondering if this has any connection to Todd's post last week about being threatened for seeing a bill before "they" wanted us to see it. Liberalism is a scary disease.
Double-J Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:20 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:20 PM I heard from a buddy in his Dist that he NEVER returns phone calls or emails. So when is he up for re-election again?
BobPistol Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:20 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:20 PM He must be a leftist then. How he behaves toward those he disagrees with by calling the police on them....that is their MO.
Grey Beret Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:43 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:43 PM ISRA e-mail SPECIAL NOTICE: DO NOT call Senator Kotowski unless he is your Senator, and even then be very careful. Kotowski has a track record of having the State Police investigate and harass people that disagree with him. Has anyone heard of this before?I wonder Munoz has that habit as well? Still haven't heard anything from the investigation of "threats". If you disagree with a liberal they always feel threatened.
ChicagoSigFan Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:55 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:55 PM I think everyone in the state should call him 8 times a day. I really don't understand the ISRA's position here. It's like not commenting on the Sandy Hook parents (See Colonel's great post). We are playing by their rules, and we will never win that way - not in our Second Amendment fight, not in any fight to take Illinois back from the liberals. If we don't have the guts to stand up to bullying, to set the rules of our own game, then we should all quit and resign ourselves to living in the same Illinois we have been complaining about for years.
Rockdiver Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:56 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:56 PM Not entirely true, he will return calls....but only to cover his a**. My mother lives about a block away from Kotowski, and had been a hardcore democrat supporter for as long as I could remember. He changed all that. My brother was a delivery driver for Lou Malnattis for years while in college. During his campaigns he would order multiples for his workers, and never tipped. Ever. When he ordered for himsrlf....also....no tips. She refused to vote for him and will no longer allow the posting of signs on her property for any dem because of it. 2 years ago she gets a call from his staff for support on some local issue. She explains she thinks he is a scumbag and tells them why before hanging up on them. Ten minutes later he calls her up personally.... and lies. Repeatedly. The story changes a few times....my staff blah blah, it mihht have happened once as a mistake blah blah, the tip was supposed to add automatically..... She offered to give him my brothers number (he lives in the district also), but he basicly told her he has no knowledge of that. Trite, perhaps. But she hates him with a passion for his cowardace even more than she did before. The man is excrement wrapped in a suit, and has no trouble lying to cover his embarassing shortcomings to a widow.
Jfl0 Posted May 21, 2013 at 02:02 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 02:02 PM I have no interest in calling him. HOWEVER, that does not change the fact that I would not let such a ******* bully me around. I had about a decade and change of that through middle school and high school many moons ago, and I won't put up with it as an adult.
Scots Posted May 21, 2013 at 02:06 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 02:06 PM Eh, I called him. The police can't do anything about a tax-paying citizen contacting our ELECTED politicians' offices to express concern over a piece of legislation.
Livewire18 Posted May 21, 2013 at 02:47 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 02:47 PM Eh, I called him. The police can't do anything about a tax-paying citizen contacting our ELECTED politicians' offices to express concern over a piece of legislation. +1 - Be polite, and if you are really worried, state that the call is being recorded (at the beginning of the call).
ops144 Posted May 21, 2013 at 02:48 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 02:48 PM ISRA e-mail SPECIAL NOTICE: DO NOT call Senator Kotowski unless he is your Senator, and even then be very careful. Damocles Posted May 21, 2013 at 02:53 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 02:53 PM OMG that is just unreal. I emailed Chad Hays and Mike Frerichs. I will also call if I need to.
RockerXX Posted May 21, 2013 at 02:59 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 02:59 PM Eh, I called him. The police can't do anything about a tax-paying citizen contacting our ELECTED politicians' offices to express concern over a piece of legislation. Yep, he can be annoyed about his job and responsibilities all he wants it's not illegal to contact him about legislation to express your opinion no matter what he says or who he temper tantrums to...
Feh Posted May 21, 2013 at 03:13 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 03:13 PM His job is to listen to constituents, plain and simple, no? For a tyrant, it's not.
dorvinion Posted May 21, 2013 at 03:28 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 03:28 PM Eh, I called him. The police can't do anything about a tax-paying citizen contacting our ELECTED politicians' offices to express concern over a piece of legislation. +1 - Be polite, and if you are really worried, state that the call is being recorded (at the beginning of the call). Got to remember that statement that the call is being recorded if you do record. Felony in Illinois to record a phone conversation without both party consent. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Livewire18 Posted May 21, 2013 at 03:34 PM Posted May 21, 2013 at 03:34 PM remember, stating a call is being recorded doesnt meant it is being recorded. :-)
AlphaKoncepts aka CGS Posted May 22, 2013 at 03:01 PM Posted May 22, 2013 at 03:01 PM Umm... isn't that all the more reason to call? Don't let some two bit state politician bully you with your own police services.+1 So this jack a** in office uses his clout to not only oppress our 2a rights but our 1a rights as well.
Jim Smyth Posted May 22, 2013 at 07:12 PM Posted May 22, 2013 at 07:12 PM Senator Kotowski shows up at my sons school recently. My son texts me and asks if I ever heard of him before. I said yep, he's the one trying to take your 2nd amendments rights away. My son tells me he starts spewing the usual politician BS and then starts in on guns and gun control. My son told me he thought the guy was a total (add expletive here)!
