Hopefully, we'll also see the new carry bill from Rep. Phelps.

Edit: Sorry mauserme.. In a little too quick today.

I guess you really can say "In before mauserme".

Others have tried - only one has succeeded.

...Senate Amendment 3 proposing to exempt thespians from the ban was filed.

.

What does the gay marriage debate have to do with a magazine ban?

By the way, I could care less if two thespians want to get married.

Foghorn Leghorn - "It's a joke, son, a joke."

'Course if the mods think it's it's offensive in any way - take 'er down.

Just struck me funny.

(Yes, I do indeed know what a thespian is.

- my Dad and I had that conversation.)

ahhh, noon start time. Another day of getting nothing done it looks like. Or do you think they will "work" late tonight?

One thing I have learned, is that, nothing should be a surprise here in Illinois.

I haven't yet had the opportunity to watch the senate in action. How does the pro/anti split generally look? Can we expect any bills to just blast through and move on to the house, or does the senate have enough common sense folks to tie up bad legislation directly..?

I'm not sure about the general make-up, but Todd's post yesterday about losing some republicans to the magazine ban was quite concerning. I'm not sure if he was talking in both chambers as a whole or moreso in the senate or house individually, but it's definitely unwanted news.

That ban concerns me. I'm a c&r and collect militaria. I've got clips, magazines, belts for firearms I don't even own tucked away. Last I counted I had over 300 magazines that hold over 10 rounds. No frigging idea how many belts, or clips (ak74 stripper clips hold 15 rounds, for example, and I have many dozens....). It would take me several days to figure out every belt I have that'd qualify. And I'd need clarification on many. For instance, are my disintegrating links counted because they can be assembled in to lengths over 10? If so is each link another felony? What about my DSHK links? The soviet heavy machinegun links come in nice even 10 round segments, but these can be joined together in to belts of 100. (any more than that and the heavy DSHK has a problem pulling them through due to ammo weight.)

Trent, If this passes your picture will be on Illinois's 10 Most Wanted List!

I added up an estimate and I'd be let out on parole sometime around the time my great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandchildren are buried.

Screw it, if this passes, I'll move to Indiana and take my company (and net worth) with me. My employees all hate Illinois anyway.

Also, I suppose it doesn't matter to the legislators that they'd be making a felon out of someone who A) owns a large company in IL, B] is a father of 5 and a guardian to my mentally disabled sister, C) has passed FBI Background checks to become a federally licensed firearms dealer and collector of curio and relics of war.

I mean, the federal government - BATF and FBI - says I'm a good guy, who is OK to own artillery pieces, anti-tank rocket launchers, and bazookas; all true destructive devices which on the C&R list...

But the State of Illinois says I'm not OK to own a metal box with a spring?

Screw that.

I'll move somewhere where my (large, very substantial) tax payments are appreciated.
