USA SHARK Posted May 20, 2013 at 10:39 PM Posted May 20, 2013 at 10:39 PM It isn't just about our Government Officials being "anti-gun" for the safety and well being of the citizens. It's about our Governments willingness to attack all of our rights that are guaranteed by our Constitution. Some laughed when it was said that it won't stop with the 2nd Amendment, thinking they would never touch the 1st Amendment, but unfortunately that just isn't true. I fear this isn't about Gun Control any longer, it's about Government Control. Here is the latest attack on our rights, but now it is on our 1st Amendment, which guarantees Freedom of the Press.... Which of our rights will be targeted next? We are on a very fast, very slippery slope with our president firmly in control of the sled as it heads downhill! ================================================================================ Fox News: Government spying on reporter ‘downright chilling’By Olivier Knox, Yahoo! News | The Ticket – 4 hrs ago Fox News on Monday angrily denounced the Justice Department’s “downright chilling” decision to target of one of its reporters, James Rosen, in a national security leak investigation. Executive Vice President Michael Clemente portrayed the government’s actions as an assault on “what up until now has always been a free press.”“We are outraged to learn today that James Rosen was named a criminal co-conspirator for simply doing his job as a reporter,” Clemente said in a statement.“In fact, it is downright chilling,” Clemente said. “We will unequivocally defend his right to operate as a member of what up until now has always been a free press.”The Washington Post first disclosed details of the case. The Federation of American Scientists Project on Government Secrecy later posted the warrant request and affidavit in the case. The affidavit, sworn by FBI agent Reginald Reyes, portrays routine reporter-source exchanges as similar to espionage.
Jfl0 Posted May 20, 2013 at 10:49 PM Posted May 20, 2013 at 10:49 PM that are guaranteed by our Constitution. Well... depending on your philosophy on the subject. The Constitution codifies our rights (and does not create them), but the rights are guaranteed already since the founding of our nation.
45 whit Posted May 20, 2013 at 10:53 PM Posted May 20, 2013 at 10:53 PM Holders response was straight out of Sargent Schultz mouth...."I know nuthing"
vezpa Posted May 20, 2013 at 11:11 PM Posted May 20, 2013 at 11:11 PM Obama said he would fundamentally change the USA. Is there a part of that you didn't understand? .
C0untZer0 Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:10 AM Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:10 AM Since they've attacked the First and Second Amendment, it's logical that they'll attack the Third Amendment next.
pyre400 Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:32 AM Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:32 AM The media just may wake up and finally realize whos bed they've been sleeping in...
SFC Stu Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:36 AM Posted May 21, 2013 at 01:36 AM Obama said he would fundamentally change the USA. Is there a part of that you didn't understand? . Only if we allow it! He is not God!
patriot1776 Posted May 21, 2013 at 02:00 AM Posted May 21, 2013 at 02:00 AM It never was just about the 2nd amendment , that is the first one needed in any takeover , just ask uncle Adolph or uncle Joseph Stalin .
Jim Smyth Posted May 21, 2013 at 11:55 AM Posted May 21, 2013 at 11:55 AM The media just may wake up and finally realize whos bed they've been sleeping in... Its funny now that its effecting the media they don't like it. About time they start waking up!
GWBH Posted May 22, 2013 at 02:17 AM Posted May 22, 2013 at 02:17 AM Obama said he would fundamentally change the USA. Is there a part of that you didn't understand? . That is THE quote I remember from his first campaign...To transform a nation by changing the fundamentals on which it was founded means changing the foundation it was built upon. (i.e. the US Constitution)Remember he stated the the Constitution puts "constraints" on government and he does not like that at all. We've had our share of dangerous people in government office but I don't think anyone has ever hated this country the way he does.
TFC Posted May 22, 2013 at 02:39 AM Posted May 22, 2013 at 02:39 AM National Security has always been the excuse of choice for the despot. We have to be aware of this.Funny how many got the "tin foil hat" treatment when they bring up government abuses. Hopefully that will stop.
azone5 Posted May 22, 2013 at 03:23 AM Posted May 22, 2013 at 03:23 AM It's always about government control and winning elections. It's about their power. That's why the constitution and our rights have no meaning and value to them.
TFC Posted May 22, 2013 at 03:26 AM Posted May 22, 2013 at 03:26 AM People have reached their breaking points. They now know that they are not alone in their beliefs or their struggles. And as long as information flows, they will have a voice. The career politicians have been put on notice; their power is threatened and now are taking drastic action.Again, we must be cautious and we must be vigilant.
BShawn Posted May 22, 2013 at 03:40 AM Posted May 22, 2013 at 03:40 AM I firmly believe that it's the 2nd amendment that protects all of the rest! and all of this certainly makes me think of one of my all time favorite quotes: "Those who are willing to sacrifice liberty in the name of security deserve neither" !!!
