USA SHARK Posted May 18, 2013 at 12:02 PM Posted May 18, 2013 at 12:02 PM How ironic that many of the headlines read "Moral Character Gone"..... After listening to hours of audio of legislative actions (or inactions) from the House and Senate, I couldn't agree more.
Jim Smyth Posted May 18, 2013 at 12:04 PM Posted May 18, 2013 at 12:04 PM Its amazing the Democrats in Chicago keep pushing this when its overwhelming not popular with its voting constituents. People need to remove them from office!
SAXD9 Posted May 18, 2013 at 12:12 PM Posted May 18, 2013 at 12:12 PM It sounds like Kwame is ok with going over the cliff. I really doubt that is the case.
NakPPI Posted May 18, 2013 at 12:37 PM Posted May 18, 2013 at 12:37 PM It sounds like Kwame is ok with going over the cliff. I really doubt that is the case. He's playing chicken with the federal court... He will lose. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

patriot1776 Posted May 18, 2013 at 12:59 PM Posted May 18, 2013 at 12:59 PM We have not seen anything yet , from here, until Mikey puts out the final bill, it will get crazier , bill after bill . Hunker down and dig in , they are and have been probing our lines looking for soft spots. GIT ER DONE.
patriot1776 Posted May 18, 2013 at 01:01 PM Posted May 18, 2013 at 01:01 PM They had to take moral character out, remember we are talking about politicians.
lockman Posted May 18, 2013 at 01:07 PM Posted May 18, 2013 at 01:07 PM They removed "moral", now you just have to be a "character".
Double-J Posted May 18, 2013 at 01:10 PM Posted May 18, 2013 at 01:10 PM Isn't he Precious? What a standup guy to do the bidding of the Rahm & Gary show. Tic - Toc - Tic - Toc.

People need to remove them from office! what does something being unpopular with the people have to do with a democrat not supporting it sadly even some 'Republicans' are getting that way look at gay 'marriage'
Blackhawk067 Posted May 18, 2013 at 01:53 PM Posted May 18, 2013 at 01:53 PM lol @ Kwame referring to US as extremists for wanting uniformed laws. It simply amazes me how people like this, not only graduated with degrees in law, but then managed to get elected as well. Actually it doesn't. Chicago voters have proven that they're brainless fools for decades, no offense to our people here stuck in that cesspool. Even members of my own family who still live on the southside still vote Democrat across the board despite the fact that they're constantly complaining about the politics, the taxes, the state of affairs. It's just mind boggling...
Davey Posted May 18, 2013 at 02:14 PM Posted May 18, 2013 at 02:14 PM ""While concessions have been made, I for my part will not concede anything that compromises public safety," Raoul said. "And if that means going to the end where there's a stalemate and it will be up to local municipalities to enact ordinances ... they'll see a far worse patchwork that they'll have to try to navigate than the compromise that was proposed in my bill."" I'm skerred. Skerred I tell a.
Mr. Fife Posted May 18, 2013 at 03:24 PM Posted May 18, 2013 at 03:24 PM In the end, the smell test for whatever ordinances any municipalities enact will have to be something along the lines of "can someone like Mary Shepard take a train or bus to visit a church that is not posted, St. Patrick's Cathedral for example, while carrying a concealed weapon?". Drylok Posted May 18, 2013 at 03:58 PM Posted May 18, 2013 at 03:58 PM I can't read papers or watch tv news anymore. It just drives me bat poop crazy how they try to make the antis bills sound so reasonable. 40 hrs of training is rediculous and nearly unheard of. Also May issue means no issue and the court said no issue is unconstitutional.

skinnyb82 Posted May 18, 2013 at 04:24 PM Posted May 18, 2013 at 04:24 PM Chicago will sue the state if a preemptive bill is passed. That's one lawsuit I'm happy to pay for heh. DoktorPaimon Posted May 18, 2013 at 07:09 PM Posted May 18, 2013 at 07:09 PM Something tells me that after Phelps' bill passes a few people you never would have imagined will come out and endorse Lisa against Quinn.
karim18 Posted May 18, 2013 at 07:54 PM Posted May 18, 2013 at 07:54 PM Wouldn't the "moral character" amendment prohibit most Chicago politicians from getting a carry permit?
abolt243 Posted May 18, 2013 at 08:06 PM Posted May 18, 2013 at 08:06 PM If they were required to pass the same scrutiny to be a legislator as they are proposing to carry a gun, most of them would lose their job!!

I thought Kwame's bill looks more or less like the same process as getting into politics in Chicago: have a friend in the right place, do work for them, pay some money, get things the plebs don't have access to.
vezpa Posted May 18, 2013 at 08:48 PM Posted May 18, 2013 at 08:48 PM I don't know why Chicago and Cook care so much, after all Federal Law is not binding on them as the Cook County State's attorney clearly stated. .
MINOOKAJOE Posted May 18, 2013 at 09:34 PM Posted May 18, 2013 at 09:34 PM Raoul, who took President Barack Obama's seat when Obama entered the U.S. Senate in 2005 and who lives blocks from the president's Chicago home, zealously defended his attempts to protect public safety while balancing the Second Amendment rights of gun owners. Amagine that ! Raoul has no clue on the second amendment.Balance what balance they will not acknowledge our rights, they try to strip us of our rights all the time..It's not like they have the rights to give. The rights are ours to begin with, provided by the constitution of the United States, rights which they refuse to acknowledge.

That would be called sedition and Obama should have Alvarez and revery single one of those crooks arrested on charges of treason *snicker*. Either way, Quinn or Rahm (yeah right) need to do something about all this crap moving into the city and north burbs, as if it wasn't already awful. Now they're worried about tourists. Just think of the people begging for carry permits when it starts getting really hot out and the violent crime peaks McCarthy obviously can't do anything, not entirely his fault when Rahm would rather drop $100M on a new arena for the DePaul basketball team that isn't even a public school and, well, sucks, instead of allocating that money to the CPD.
