Talonap Posted March 17, 2013 at 09:45 PM Posted March 17, 2013 at 09:45 PM trying trying trying nope not the insert key and like I said, this the only website where it occurs. What's an "Insert Key"?
RockerXX Posted March 17, 2013 at 09:57 PM Posted March 17, 2013 at 09:57 PM It's an IE10 bug, of course M$ says it's not their fault and the website coders should update their code to work with the new IE10 specific requirements... Nothing new M$ has been this way forever they like to do it their way with IE vs what the rest of the world does... My advice switch to Chrome or Firefox, or one of many other browsers... If you insist on using IE10, click the compatibility button (it located under tools) and the Enter will work again but in true M$ fashion you have fixed one thing and opened up a can of worms and broken many other things, formatting will be horrible, a no win Welcome to my life as a website developer and the never ending browser compatibility issues... ***EDIT to the staff here*** This is an issue with the TinyMCE (WYSIWYG reply module) on the forum, not the forum itself, there might be patches out there...One website suggested these patches as a fix, I have no way to verify if it will work though... http://dev.ckeditor.com/changeset/7662http://dev.ckeditor.com/changeset/7663
Bud Posted March 18, 2013 at 12:31 AM Author Posted March 18, 2013 at 12:31 AM I am using IE 10 but adding Illinois Carry in the compatability screen did nothing
NakPPI Posted March 18, 2013 at 12:53 AM Posted March 18, 2013 at 12:53 AM Chrome. Faster. Syncs your bookmarks on all pcs and mobile devices. Learns your search patterns. No IE bugs. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
RockerXX Posted March 18, 2013 at 01:04 AM Posted March 18, 2013 at 01:04 AM I am using IE 10 but adding Illinois Carry in the compatability screen did nothing Hmm, if it doesn't work after a reboot, there must be new or continuing issues... I personally don't use IE10 so I can't give any more specifics vs what I have come across... May I suggest as above that you switch to a browser that doesn't have the proprietary IE10 issues, even if it's just for this site... IE has come a long way as a browser but IMO it's still inferior to the other offerings like Chrome and Firefox... Do understand that neither of them are perfect they all have their own quirks, I run both Chrome and Firefox at all times, some sites open and perform better in certain browsers just a reality we have to accept...
Bud Posted March 18, 2013 at 01:56 AM Author Posted March 18, 2013 at 01:56 AM no good after a reboot. I will probably just change to chrome
Bud Posted March 18, 2013 at 03:05 AM Author Posted March 18, 2013 at 03:05 AM Changed to Chrome but i think it is a violation of my 1st Amendment rights But look, I can start a new paragraph! How cool is that?
bmyers Posted March 18, 2013 at 09:43 AM Posted March 18, 2013 at 09:43 AM Your not alone Bud, I have the same issue, but it just depends on which computer I'm on. My laptop and desktop at home are fine, but I log in at work and I can't start a new line.

GWBH Posted April 24, 2013 at 04:59 PM Posted April 24, 2013 at 04:59 PM I switched to Mozilla - problem solved...
soundguy Posted April 24, 2013 at 05:36 PM Posted April 24, 2013 at 05:36 PM Mozilla good. Chrome bad... Probably just because I haven't figured it out yet. Sticking with and recommend Mozilla, which I have used for years..
C0untZer0 Posted April 30, 2013 at 12:40 PM Posted April 30, 2013 at 12:40 PM Internet Exploder sucks. I just upgraded to IE10 and now the return key doesn't work on this site and Amazon.com hangs instead of loading. At first I didn't think it was the browser and I was trying to purchase something on Amazon so I called their support line. The first they told me was to stop using Internet Exploder. So now I'm using Chrome.
Bud Posted April 30, 2013 at 06:12 PM Author Posted April 30, 2013 at 06:12 PM I was having troubkle with both Chrome (no sound but the return key works)and IE 10 (no return key but the sound works) on Illinois Carry so now I am using FireFox which seems to handle everything okay. so far

borgranta Posted April 30, 2013 at 08:08 PM Posted April 30, 2013 at 08:08 PM anybody know how to fix this? It is only happening here on this website.I have the same problem with IE 10 all you need to do is use chrome or firefox and other older browsers. I recommend using chrome and IE since I am actively signed it to both simultaneously with no problems.
Talonap Posted May 1, 2013 at 01:50 PM Posted May 1, 2013 at 01:50 PM Shouldn't the Forum programmers be the ones to update their system to one of the most commonly used browsers? Just asking... People shouldn't be forced to change browsers to get full functionality.

Livewire18 Posted May 9, 2013 at 12:15 PM Posted May 9, 2013 at 12:15 PM anybody know how to fix this? It is only happening here on this website. This has been discussed in another thread already. located at http://illinoiscarry.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=37287&hl=ie10&do=findComment&comment=465303 Bug in the board's code or bug in IE? Depending on the version of IP.Board client running on the boards, the fix is located at http://dev.ckeditor.com/changeset/7662 or http://dev.ckeditor.com/changeset/7663
Livewire18 Posted May 24, 2013 at 11:51 AM Posted May 24, 2013 at 11:51 AM How do I apply those fixes?> This has to be done on the web server. It is a code change for the forum software. So, unless you are the web master, you won't be able to.
