With all the conversation about how members of the House recently voted on each of the HB1155 amendments, it seemed like a good idea to supply the information in a graphical format

Lo and behold, Elderberry came through right on time with the attached spreadsheet depicting each amendment cross referenced to every member's vote, along with vote totals and results. This will be very valuable information as we move forward in the process of achieving Right to Carry in Illinois and may also be quite useful as a voting resource in the next elections.

Thank you, sir, for the excellent work.

I am a data geek

I am going to scour this for trends

I already see something alarming but I think based on a prior thread......there might be strategy within it. My rep voted YES to A1 - A5 but stopped there and then voted on A27. My rep is pro CCW and pro-gun.

Great job guys!!

Just guy (in the singular). It's all Elderberry's work - all I did was post it.

Ok then great assist. How's that? Elderberry thanks for taking the time to put that together, it's much easier to follow.

Cool. I had posted a link to something similar, but this is even better.

One minor request......could you put a brief summary of the amnedment (ie - daycare ban, stadium ban) near the top......would help from having to click between pages to determine the topic of the amendment...

Thanks in advance

The description of each amendment is embedded into the spreadsheet as a note that shows up as a footnote at the bottom....

Soooo, if you are reading the information by looking at Post #1 in this thread, then put your mouse on the chart and scroll down (or move the slider down) until you see the bottom of the chart and you will see the information you requested.

If you are going to the web site linked in Post #1 you can do the same thing -- and it's a lot easier to see it because the page is much bigger...

In the midst of all the IGOLD activity, markthesignguy also found time to provide a spreadsheet oulining the votes on the HB1155 amendments.

I have to say, if our opposition had people half as dedicated as Illinois Carry members, we would be in big trouble.

WAIT. I'm seeing Rep. Durkin voted Yes on all those bad measures/amendments??? Does this mean I REALLY need to ramp up my vocalization against him?????? He seemed to be leaning toward "our" side?? OR are his votes political gamesmanship? I want to make sure before I release the hounds.

theres a method to thier votes!!!!!! how many times does that have to be stated before people will finally realize it. the votes on 1155 and 1156 were just a set of games by madigan to try and use those votes in the campaigns. durkin is on our side and will be on our side again....going after him and a few of the others for the way they voted would be the worst thing we could do right now..

Really disappointed im my Representative, Joe Sosnowski. I sent him an E-mail a couple of weeks ago and received this message in return.

Thank you for contacting my office regarding concealed carry. I appreciate the opportunity to respond to you concerning this matter.

We are all saddened by the unconscionable events that took place at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut. As a result of this terrible tragedy, the families of the victims are certainly in my thoughts as they work through the anguish that accompanies the sudden and violent loss of a loved one.

The devastating effect of gun violence is on the minds of many Americans, but most would still agree that law abiding gun owners would personally like to prevent all tragedies; however it is impossible to safeguard against every possible violent action. I do not agree that more gun laws or restrictions are the answer to preventing violent crimes; however, improving our background check process is a well-intentioned move towards keeping firearms out of the hands of mentally unstable individuals.

The Illinois Courts have ruled recently that the Second Amendment confers a right to bear arms for self-defense, which is as important outside of the home as inside. The court has determined that the state legislature has 180 days to craft a responsible proposal that meets constitutional muster regarding an individual's right to bear arms. I am pleased the courts are forcing this discussion onto the legislative leaders who for many years have tried to prevent reasonable concealed carry language.

I believe House Bill 148 provides a worthy model for concealed carry regulations and qualifications. In addition, I do not support the 97th General Assembly bills HB1263 or HB815. In addition, I do not support the more recent 98th General Assembly's SB42 or any assault weapons ban on law abiding citizens.

I appreciate you sharing your ideas about how to make Illinois concealed carry law effective and efficient. Please know I am a strong proponent of our 2nd Amendment Right to conceal and carry, and I believe rights should be afforded to responsible law abiding gun owners.

I look forward to hearing from you again with regard to this or any future legislative concern you may have.

Sincerely,

Joe Sosnowski

State Representative

District 69

Last week I came here to check the voting results from Springfield only to find Congressman Sosnowski voted Y on just about every restriction or he didn't vote at all. Have we just become a country of liars?

There is one vote on that spreadsheet that you need to focus on and only one vote -- where did he stand on HB997. That is the indicator that he will vote you a good concealed carry bill when the big day finally gets here....

Reserved for update from 3/19/2013....

EDIT @ 9pm -- Still waiting on the clerk to post the tally sheets. Without those I have no idea who voted how... At this point it looks like it will be tomorrow... Sorry folks...

Just looked all of the votes over. It's clear that my rep doesn't care in the slightest about what's in the interest of the people he represents. He voted yes on everything except the $1MM insurance amendment despite calls and e-mails pleading with him to vote no. Nobody actually representing his district could honestly vote yes to the things he's voting without being in someone's pocket.
