Our regular monthly Handgun & Holster Skills classes (the 'holster' class) are normally at Article II Lombard (third Thursday) or GAT Guns Dundee (fourth Thursday).
But, we had a fellow wanting one this coming Monday afternoon and he's bringing a couple of friends.
That means we have up to three spots available (max. 8).
What's special is that this is at an outdoor club in Chesterton (think: Dunes) and it's just plain a lot nicer shooting outdoors.
This class, while action-pistol competition oriented, uses the same fundamentals and mechanics as concealed carry holster work. Speed to the draw, proper grip acquisition, getting the sight picture quickly, and shooting multiple targets with speed and accuracy are the goals.
Taught by winning action pistol competitor TD Roe, sponsored by Canyon Creek Custom Guns of Streator, you'll shoot far more quickly and be ready to hit the Sunday morning match with positive control of your gun.
2pm Central time, August 27th, 2012, at North Porter County Conservation Club, 933 N. Calumet Ave, Chesterton, IN (some GPSs still see this address as "Valparaiso").
$100. You will need a 9mm/.38 or larger handgun, a safe, range-type holster (such as an inexpensive Uncle Mike's Kydex), several magazines and carriers, and at least 150 rounds of ammunition.
You can see more about this, us, and register online at www.exceltraininggroup.com.
