The following event took place last night in the Chatham neighborhood in Chicago.  It was a sold out event! The theatre was packed with over 500 attendees - and no protestors!  More proof that the tide of public opinion has turned in favor of Right to Carry.

NEGROES WITH GUNS: Rob Williams and Black Power
USA, 53 minutes, 2005,
Writer/Co-Director: Sandra Dickson;
Co-Director: Churchill Roberts
NEGROES WITH GUNS tells the dramatic story of the often-forgotten civil rights leader who urged African Americans to arm themselves against violent racists. In doing so, Williams not only challenged the Klan-dominated establishment of his hometown of Monroe, North Carolina, he alienated the mainstream Civil Rights Movement, which advocated peaceful resistance.
Robert F. Williams was the forefather of the Black Power movement and broke dramatic new ground by internationalizing the African American struggle. Negroes with Guns is not only an electrifying look at an historically erased leader, but also provides a thought-provoking examination of Black radicalism and resistance and serves as a launching pad for the study of Black liberation philosophies. Insightful interviews with historian Clayborne Carson, biographer Timothy Tyson, Julian Bond, and a first person account by Mabel Williams, Robert’s wife, bring the story to life.
Shown with
NO GUNS FOR NEGROES
USA 2009, 20 min, by Aaron Zelman
The historical record provides compelling evidence that racism underlies gun control laws — and not in any subtle way. Throughout much of American history, gun control was openly stated as a method for keeping blacks and Hispanics “in their place,” and to quiet the racial fears of whites. This film provides a brief summary of this unholy alliance of gun control and racism, and to suggest that gun control laws should be regarded as “suspect ideas,” analogous to the “suspect classifications” theory of discrimination already part of the American legal system.

Look at those addresses.  You would have to bring a gun to see the movie!  Any idea how the turn out was number of attendees?

Good work!  Getting more people are educated like this helps turn the tide of public opinion.

This is great.  Are there plans to present this elsewhere in the state?  I'd like to help spread the word.

Actually we were contacted by a minister at the program who has invited us to her church to show the films and have the panel discussion.  We have struggleg to find a way into the black church for years.  ?This invitation represents a significant break through.  It show us time and time again that when the local politicians say " our constituency isn't interested in concealed carry" they are just straight up lying.  We will be doing this some time in September.

Just two and a half short years ago, in March of 2010, Chicago held its first Town Hall meeting at Northerstern Ill. University's south side campus with about 50 people in attendance.  Although we have a lot further to go, we have definetly come a long way from then, to now!
Nobody ever wished they had a smaller gun, with fewer bullets, in a gunfight....   Author unknown.

Dr. G I am connnected to Chicago's gospel and jazz musicians, who play the largest churches and venues, through an online community with about 300 members. Let me know if I can assist with an introduction, or assist in a casual way.

As a suggestion, I would think that copies of the book "Black Man With A Gun" by Kenn Blanchard.  Better yet, contact Mr. Blanchard to see if he would like to participate.

Earlier this year I received a DVD titled "NO GUNS FOR NEGROES" as well as more information about how the race thing has been used to keep guns out of the hands of LAW ABIDING Black American citizens.

The envelope and all of the contents are from JPFO PRODUCTION.

Full permission is granted to copy the video and GIVE IT AWAY.

Would handing out the video be advisable or would it offend folks?

So how were these films received by the audience?  Did they come away with a different view of gun control?
