Mr. Fife Posted June 28, 2012 at 01:29 AM Posted June 28, 2012 at 01:29 AM I received an email from Maxon's yesterday asking me to attend a meeting at the Village Hall about their new facility in Des Plaines. Unfortunately it was sent a couple of hours before the meeting and I didn't see the email until after the meeting was well underway. If I had seen something earlier, I could have attended. I'm not sure why they waited until the last minute, I think that was a mistake. I'm just curious if anyone here made the meeting and has any info to share.
RECarry Posted June 28, 2012 at 01:35 AM Posted June 28, 2012 at 01:35 AM I saw the notice on their website, but too late to change a meeting with out-of-towners.
Kain1003 Posted July 6, 2012 at 09:04 PM Posted July 6, 2012 at 09:04 PM So they are going to have a new location? Will there prices be any cheaper or is this why their prices were higher? $20 for an hour of shooting was just too much for me. I guess its the price you pay to shoot in the suburbs though.
Sigma Posted July 6, 2012 at 11:25 PM Posted July 6, 2012 at 11:25 PM YEs its kinda high considering you can go to Midwest and shoot as long as you want but they allow you to shoot AR's. I was there a few weeks ago and they were talking about getting zoning to approve it. Now that its approved I cant wait to check it out.
JackTripper Posted July 7, 2012 at 07:57 PM Posted July 7, 2012 at 07:57 PM I went there twice. Never again. That place is an environmental disaster with the worst air filtration system ever. Use their facilities at your own personal peril.
drdoom Posted July 9, 2012 at 11:19 PM Posted July 9, 2012 at 11:19 PM Can't wait to visit the new shop and range (more easily accessible from my house, I can literally walk/bike there!)
TFC Posted July 10, 2012 at 12:19 AM Posted July 10, 2012 at 12:19 AM With a garage full of diesel engines on the other side, there are bigger problems with that site than just Maxon.

That's why the new site, makes alot more sense, their current site is by a crapload of car dealerships and truck places. Not fun if your trying to access it on foot.
