Saw this on a blog yesterday.
And for laughs and giggles any nitwit (Pointing a finger at my self can make a firing pin out of rod stock) with basic tools. Think of the documentary of Illegal gun market in Pakistan.
Cliff notes I've had a Houston High standard sitting around in a box for years with a broken firing pin. High standard of Houston deems this an extra special part and only a FFL can order this. I just haven't gotten motivated enough to order one.
Last summer thinking with microstamping in mind, for the heck of it. I wanted to see just how difficult making a firing pin without a lathe or Milling machine would be.
Equipped with a cheap drill press, files , sandpaper, hacksaw, calipers, and a torch for heat treating it can be done pretty easily.
So whats to stop a drug dealing gang-banger that can afford $1000 24" rims, tossing a guy with a lathe a couple hundred bucks to make some firing pins with no markings?

I think a microstamp bill has passed the NY assembly for several years in a row. It has in the past always dies in the Senate. Some news outlets are strongly predicting it won't even come for a vote in the senate.
Fools, those who push bills like these.

that's what i was wanting to know in another post i made. cause it has never made it passed the senate as far as i know.
Ahh. I think that fact passed me by. Nice to know the media portays it as pretty much a done deal. Good to hear there may be smarter heads in the NY Senate than in the House.
