Apparently some 18 year old was arrested for carrying an M1 Garand in Birmingham, MI.  In protest, a bunch of folks carried rifles and pistols into a city commission meeting.  Wow.  Check out the video!  Mostly ARs it seemed to me.

Newscasters were "well, apparently it's legal, so ..."

Yes. I'm predicting that Chicago/Cook county will be sold out in order to get "shall issue".

The video and article mention them carrying AK-47s.  I didn't see a single AK.

Packing heat? Assult rifles? What a bunch of uneducated reporters! The police were even dumber for arresting him!

Just once I want to see a report about people wearing blue shirts.  "It should be pointed out that wearing a blue shirt is not illegal, but nonetheless it's not something you see every day."

Great story GF........

Makes me fantasize about that happening at a Chicago city council meeting! (Or any council meeting in this state for that matter) Could you imagine how many people would wet their panties?

The comment section is always my favorite part of these kinds of stories
"A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks"

Yeah, I saw one or two "its unsafe for the children" type comments..those are always funny. Simpsons got it right big time "Won't somebody please think of the children!".

I think while some may argue this is counter productive to gun rights as a whole (think what happened to the black panthers in California back in the 60's when they tried this kind of stuff) , I can think of no better protest in support of someone who was illegally arrested on trumped up charges for OCing a rifle.

Nice

Alrighty then.  I know the comments are all in fun but let's try to keep it respectful and in good taste. A couple of posts didn't quite make it.

How does the blonde lady get away with holding the AR in her hands rather than slung on your shoulder or back?

Yes, I really look like this.

It's on a single point sling,  I assume she is just holding it so it doesn't flop around while walking briskly across the street.

Yip,after taking a closer look,i believe Harley is right! If it was on her shoulder it would flop all over the place like being on a bungee cord.
