Poll: Is it a good idea for Illinois to add a 2 percent tax on ammunition?
( ) Yes, the trauma centers can use the money to treat gunshot victims.
(X) No, it's unconstitutional, unfair, and I'll just buy my ammo in Missouri.

Understood, but this paper is out of Belleville, 1/2 hr from St. Louis.
Everything is cheaper there, worth the 1/2 hour drive. And save 30 cents a gallon on fuel there.

If you want to raise money for trauma centers in Chicago why not tack on a $200.00 court fee to any gang member who is convicted of a crime or something? Then the people causing the problem are the ones actually getting punished.

ps: belleville is in st clair county (costello country) and one of what 4 counties to vote for our guv in the last election i think..even madison i think went bush last election..lotta money in glen carbon/edwardsville anymore so i guess they are getting tired of the high taxes.

Are any of them ever convicted? Good idea though!Over 2300 now and 94% against the tax; I just hope the vote in the house(if it even gets that far) goes this well for us.
