Hey everyone. I am new to this forum but I wanted to let everyone know that I have a on going petition going to give IL a fighting chance for conceal carry. Everyone is welcome to share the link and come sign the petition. I started this petition about a week ago and almost have 200 signatures already. Fast growing and spreading so come add your name to the list !

Welcome to the forum. I will check out your petition, are you coming to IGOLD in March? We need all the people we can get, they cant ignore us forever.

Welcome to Illinois Carry.  You will find a lot of like-minded people here.

One suggestion though - Online petitions are probably not taken as seriously as thousands of people marching through the streets of Springfield and dropping by their elected officials offices for a chat.    

Can I count on you to attend IGOLD???

I am still looking into the IGOLD. If I can make it off work I will surely be there. Hopefully I can meet some of the fine members off this site and march with you ! I do agree on the petition thing not being as good as signing a petition but every but of help for us to stop being ignored helps in my opinion ! I will most likely make it to the IGOLD if I can !

PS will they have shirts available before the march?

You can get shirts or hats on the ISRA website and also at the PCCC before the march.

I hope I can figure out away to go. Kinda of sucks it's in the  middle of a week. If it was on a Friday that would of been great !

The idea is to lobby our reps and senators and they are mostly only there tues thru thurs.

Mahoney, I'm not sure where you're located, but you are aware of the busses that run to Springfield aren't you?

Yes I am. Marion is close to me . I could catch a bus there to goto Springfield. I'll have to see if I can get a vacation day for that day.

Great!!  IMHO, the bus is the way to go unless you want to travel elsewhere in Springfield while you're there.  No parking worries, delivery to the door of the PCCC and the Capitol if you don't want to make the march.  With $3.40 gas, you can't drive from Marion to Springfield and back for $25, plus you get to meet and interact with a bunch of like minded people.  

Work on that day off!!  Hope to see you there.  I'll be the one in the Gold Shirt!!!

I signed the petition. I forgot how much I hated change.org though. All their other petitions are left-wing, socialist, anti-freedom, pro-nanny-government crap. Oh well. (Not knocking your petition. It is accurate and correct, and worth signing.)


BTW, I see you're pretty new to the site. I joined the site right before IGOLD 3 yrs ago; I had just seen a link to IllinoisCarry when I was google-ing for some gun law in Illinois.  Even though the first time I ever heard of IllinoisCarry was 2 weeks before IGOLD, I took a day of PTO, got in my car, and made the trip. It was a great experience; meeting like-minded people, hearing good speakers, participating in an enjoyable march, and actually interacting with my legislators. I strongly encourage it if you can get the day off work.  Hope to see you at IGOLD!

Thanks for all your support guys. Hope I can make it. If I don't I hope they don't have one next year. Or maybe they will still have a IGOLD but it be a celebration for them actually signing something saying we can carry !!
