mauserme Posted December 21, 2011 at 04:49 AM Posted December 21, 2011 at 04:49 AM Illinois Carry is conducting a survey of the candidates filed to run in the 2012 elections and I am requesting our members' assistance. Our emphasis thus far has been on those candidates who are new to state politics as well as candidates who are not currently in office but have held office in the past. One difficulty we're experiencing is finding contact information for some of the filed candidates. If any of our members know these candidates, or perhaps travel by their campaign office or see a yard sign with a telephone phone number, please post or PM me the information. Web searches are fine but do check links as not all published web sites are active, and some that are active have contact links that are dead or offer no contact method at all. If a candidate wishes to initiate the contact let me know and I will PM you my contact information to give to them. Please keep this thread free of political discussion - there will be plenty of time for that later. Posting that a particular candidate is for or against Right to Carry is fine as long as it accompanies contact information. Our goal is to make direct contact with each and every person in the following lists. Without contact their positions typically will not be included when the results of the survey are made public. Uncle Harley Posted December 21, 2011 at 12:28 PM Posted December 21, 2011 at 12:28 PM Brad Halbrook RR# 1 Box 247B, Shelbyville Here is what People for Eddy has to say about him: A self-promoting Chicago area Millionaire is upset that Representative Eddy would not vote for a Chicago School voucher Bill that would have diverted funds away from downstate schools. So, he is sponsoring an out of district candidate to run against Representative Eddy. The petition circulators for this puppet opponent also live outside of the 110th District as does his campaign manager, Susan Petty of Effingham. Click on these documents to learn more about this attempt by a self promoting, wealthy Chicago area millionaire to control the 110th district with Chicago influence.
mauserme Posted December 21, 2011 at 12:38 PM Author Posted December 21, 2011 at 12:38 PM Thanks Uncle Harley. If you're in his district see if you can track down a phone number or email address. Even if you don't know him, maybe a friend or neighbor does. We really want to talk to every candidate, or at least a campaign manager (or staffer at the very least). Regular mail might be too slow for our self imposed deadline, and assuming his position based on his opponent's comments wouldn't be fair to any of us.

( addresses match) http://www.localharv...nic-farm-M17233 Brad Halbrook is from Shelbyville, and is personally known to me. I had a converstation with him last week as my wife and I drove through the live nativity scene that his church presented. Not withstanding his position on any other issues, his stance on RTC and the Second Amendment (which is what this thread is about) is solidly on our side. Uncle Harley, I'm a big fan of Roger Eddy myself and have had nothing but good experience with him over the last 4 years that I've contacted him relentlessly on the 2A stuff. However, realize that the information that you've posted came from HIS campaign and most likely was not written by him. I hesitate to take all of that info as gospel, and found Brad's side of the story to be interesting also. I'm very torn on the issue and quite frankly, I can't say which way I'd vote if I was still in that district. I CAN say, that Brad Halbrook's stance on ANY 2A issue would not disqualify him in my book.. AB

Black Flag Posted December 21, 2011 at 04:45 PM Posted December 21, 2011 at 04:45 PM Jim Oberweis R 25 <- never heard of him before. I hear that vouchers for free ice cream get passed about pretty often, however. Donna Castella R 30 <- Don't call him Donna. He's funny that way.

He's funny that way.I figured I could probably call the dairy but I'm trying to avoid bothering people at home or at work when I can. Its funny that his campaign web page has no contact information at all. And thanks for pointing out the typo. Donna now reads Don.

I am so not only because of his 2A stance but I have a whole list of reasons I like him. I am also a firm believer, that if it aint broke don't fix it. If you have time in a pm I would like to hear Halbrook's story though because I like to stay as informed as I can.

stm Posted December 23, 2011 at 12:29 AM Posted December 23, 2011 at 12:29 AM Mike Boland's Facebook page lists the following: email: mike@boland2012.comWebsite: http://www.boland2012.com (But all is says is "Coming Soon.")Facebook: http://facebook.com/bolandforillinois He was a Representative for Dist-71, currently Rich Morthland's district, but decided to run for Lt. Governor instead last election. I think he had an "A" grade from the NRA. He's facing Mike "BamBam" Jacobs in the primary. Jacobs is the one who allegedly punched another senator earlier this year for insulting his father. Bill Albracht is the only Republican I know of running for this office.
