Do any Illinois Walmarts still sell firearms?  If so, could you give the city that they are located in?

Effingham I believe.  Perhaps Vandalia.  All in the area (I74-I70-IN state line-I55) sell ammo.  I'm pretty sure that many south of I70 sell firearms.  As a guide, the larger stores are more likely to sell guns.  None of the "one door" stores sell guns, even the one in gun friendly Perryville, MO.  The larger floor planned "two door" stores are more likely to stock firearms.

I believe that is only for the locations that sell firearms to begin with.  Or are you saying that any walmart that sells ammo will be able to order from the catalog for me?

I'm not sure.

Only those locations that sell firearms can be used for the pick up of a special order.  The other locations do not have an FFL.

I don't beleive that to be accurate.  I don't think an FFL is required for ammunition sales.  Only for the sale of firearms.

I was in a Walmart in KY today, and to my surprise saw two ARs for sale ... a SIG and a Bushmaster.

Good to see it.

Amazing what a difference a few hundred miles makes.

This could be a very good thing.  If there were ever another run to ban "assault rifles" that are "not in common use" AR's wouldn't qualify.  You can't get much more common use that to be offered for sale at WalMart!!!

When I am in Ohio visiting the in-laws I usually check the Walmart there; Last time I was there they had .40 S&W Federal JHP's (brass case) for $15.00 per box and had 9mm for $11.00 per box. Those prices can be beat locally here during sales but those are every day prices. The only problem is; like most walmarts that still have have guns and ammo the guy behind the counter knows nothing "No the 40 S&W....the red box...two to the left...yeah that one".

The Walmart in Lake Geneva used to sell guns and ammo when I was little (90's) if memory serves they don't have guns anymore but do have some ammo.

I went to Walmart in Sparta last night and decided to check out the sporting goods section... I was surprised. They still have a few asorted shotguns and rifles for sale (had them for years), but shooting gear and ammo has really increased. Multiple targets, rests, and cleaning kits... and the ammo case has really expanded. The most surprising thing was Federal SS109 420 round ammo cans.
