SPARTA - State Rep. Jerry Costello II, D-Smithton, will host a gun rights meeting at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 11 at VFW Post 2698, at 1911 N.r Market St. in Sparta.
The goal of the meeting, Costello said in a release, is to update gun owners about efforts to pass concealed-carry legislation in Illinois. Also speaking will be Todd Vandermyde, the National Rifle Association chief lobbyist in Illinois, who will discuss NRA lawsuits to strike down some gun-control and anti-gun laws and statutes.
