From the regulations:

Every person issued a CFP or registration certificate shall keep all information required by

This is the form to file, I believe.  I'm going to send one in ASAP.  Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Just an update....

I just phoned the gun desk about the foid update (procrastination) and was pointed to a form on-line that gets mailed in....

interesting thing was, I was told to mail it in to headquarters, because the gun desk at Kedzie is no longer.

that place was a damn zoo.

gentlemen at the gun desk commented how confusing that whole concept was....

no more kedzie....back to HQ

ALSO....

has anyone sucessfully registered a revolver such as a super redhawk (7.5") in .44 mag or any other traditionally designed pistol or revolver that exceeds 50 oz. empty?

I had to check a box in reference to empty weight (mine is 53oz) and am wondering if that triggers a denial?

we'll have to see.......

What is the idea behind that? You think if they were going to regulate based on weight they would go after the lightweight guns.

You should be rejected as an "assault weapon"

(iv) a manufactured weight of 50 ounces or more when the handgun is unloaded

I will be contacting a lawyer and will sue the city for carpal tunnel syndrome.

Back to headquarters with a photocopy of my pathetic CFP and to submit my individual gun forms......now 15 bucks EACH instead of 25 for my whole collection....another check to hizzoner for 135 bucks.

so that's 405 dollars in real costs.  

Its hard to put a price on my own time, but for the sake of conversation, a reasonalble amount like 30 bucks an hour, That's 480 bucks worth of my valuable time away from family, work and friends to mess around with this....

add a bit for gas and mileage and the grand total for this is about 900 dollars and about 18 hours.

It's totally outrageous.

Sounds like a poll tax...to use a right you havet o pay for it.

On closer review, the 50 oz thing is only for semiautomatics, not revolvers. :(

Beezil,
The house just down the road for me is for sale with 5 acres of ground.
Plenty enough to build your own 200 yd rifle range and a tactical pistol walk-thru - plus have a garden and the wife can plant flowers wherever she wants to.
You can dig a hole in your yard when ever you want and as big as you want.

Oh Yeah - you won't have to go through any paperwork (minus the FOID) to shoot your guns. Sometimes the Sheriff Deputies will stop and shoot with you!!

Assault weapon means:
(1) A semiautomatic rifle that has the capacity to accept a large capacity magazine detachable or otherwise and one or more of the following:
(A) Only a pistol grip without a stock attached;
(B) Any feature capable of functioning as a protruding grip that can be held by the non-trigger hand;
© A folding, telescoping or thumbhole stock;
(D) A shroud attached to the barrel, or that partially or completely encircles the barrel, allowing the bearer to hold the firearm with the non-trigger hand without being burned, but excluding a slide that encloses the barrel; or
(E) A muzzle brake or muzzle compensator;

(2) A semiautomatic pistol or any semi-automatic rifle that has a fixed magazine, that has the capacity to accept more than ten rounds of ammunition;

(3) A semiautomatic pistol that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and has one or more of the following:
(A) Any feature capable of functioning as a protruding grip that can be held by the non-trigger hand;
(B) A folding, telescoping or thumbhole stock;
© A shroud attached to the barrel, or that partially or completely encircles the barrel, allowing the bearer to hold the firearm with the non-trigger hand without being burned, but excluding a slide that encloses the barrel;
(D) A muzzle brake or muzzle compensator; or
(E) The capacity to accept a detachable magazine at some location outside of the pistol grip.

(4) A semiautomatic shotgun that has one or more of the following:
(A) Only a pistol grip without a stock attached;
(B) Any feature capable of functioning as a protruding grip that can be held by the non-trigger hand;
© A folding, telescoping or thumbhole stock;
(D) A fixed magazine capacity in excess of five rounds; or
(E) An ability to accept a detachable magazine;

(5) Any shotgun with a revolving cylinder.

(6) Conversion kit, part or combination of parts, from which an assault weapon can be assembled if those parts are in the possession or under the control of the same person;

(7) Shall include, but not be limited to, the assault weapons models identified as follows:
(A) The following rifles or copies or duplicates thereof:
(i) AK, AKM, AKS, AK-47, AK-74, ARM, MAK90, Misr, NHM 90, NHM 91, SA 85, SA 93, VEPR;
(ii) AR-10;
(iii) AR-15, Bushmaster XM15, Armalite M15, or Olympic Arms PCR;
(iv) AR70;
(v) Calico Liberty;
(vi) Dragunov SVD Sniper Rifle or Dragunov SVU;
(vii) Fabrique National FN/FAL, FN/LAR, or FNC;
(viii) Hi-Point Carbine;
(ix) HK-91, HK-93, HK-94, or HK-PSG-1;
(x) Kel-Tec Sub Rifle;
(xi) Saiga;
(xii) SAR-8, SAR-4800;
(xiii) SKS with detachable magazine;
(xiv) SLG 95;
(xv) SLR 95 or 96;
(xvi) Steyr AUG;
(xvii) Sturm, Ruger Mini-14;
(xviii) Tavor;
(xix) Thompson 1927, Thompson M1, or Thompson 1927 Commando; or
(xx) Uzi, Galil and Uzi Sporter, Galil Sporter, or Galil Sniper Rifle (Galatz).

(B) The following pistols or copies or duplicates thereof:
(i) Calico M-110;
(ii) MAC-10, MAC-11, or MPA3;
(iii) Olympic Arms OA;
(iv) TEC-9, TEC-DC9, TEC-22 Scorpion, or AB-10; or
(v) Uzi.

© The following shotguns or copies or duplicates thereof:
(i) Armscor 30 BG;
(ii) SPAS 12 or LAW 12;
(iii) Striker 12; or
(iv) Streetsweeper.

My ARFy also came in the mail - same thing as others have reported - the corrections I made last time to the "Unknown" data were absent from this form and no way of knowing when it was due back to them other than don't be late - lol. One must presume that if their database doesn't recognize something 'Unknown' is the default to fill in the blanks? I dunno, My old Sears Ted Williams single shot 12ga with a numerical model number keeps coming back as Unknown make, unknown model.

Are there ANY programs well and efficiently run by a government agency? There sure seems to be a whole lot of 'stupid' out there. And in that list of AWs.... (viii) is why my High Point 995 carbine lives in Indiana with my brother. Just plain nutz.

That's what I did - I made the corrections to my list on the supplied sheet for each "Unknown" - I too went to their website to use the firearms correction form they reference only to find there is no such form. Only to change personal data.

It is the Annual Report of firearm inventory we are required to submit as part of the Chicago Forearm Permit gun registration.

The present draconian rules in Chicago do pale in comparison to the decades long complete ban we endured. As always residents get to choose whether to comply with the laws or ignore them and risk the consequences. During the ban there were a whole lot of otherwise law abiding citizens who ignored the rules and simply flew below the radar and prayed they never got stoppped on the way to the range.

While the current CFP and registration sucks, it is nice to be legal.

I never have not to this day and never will conform to any registration requirement, it is not me breaking the law by refusing to do it but it is the tyrants who require it who are breaking the law.
