Don't know how well attended the VFW and American Legion clubs are in outlying areas, but Pro-2A stuff is always welcome in those clubs here, so during my run yesterday, dropped large fliers for posting.

Dave of "Dave's Firearms" says, "Hello"!
Roger that! He has already sold 25+ tickets for us and has/had a few fliers. I hit the VFW that's right down the road from the Knights of columbus at Rantoul the other night before the GSL meeting. Also got the vfw in Newman but still have some more to hit.
"A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks"
-Thomas Jefferson-

Now two flags fly above my land that really sum up how I feel. One is the colors that fly high and proud the red, the white, the blue. The other ones got a rattle snake with a simple statement made, don't tread on me, is what it says and I'll take that to my grave

Was that you that sent the LTE Coach? If so thank you!

Notes to self 6/29:
Get a copy of this weeks Independent, suppose to be a front page story about the RTC meeting. They are also running an ad in next weeks paper. They want to sit in on the meeting that night.

Call Tara at 17 and see if she wants to cover any of it.

Not sure about Channel 3

News paper in Danville

Champaign Co. States Attorney is wishy on 2A and no go on carry. Move on to Edgar county state attorney. If he wants to speak that will give us the 5 speakers.
Edit Add: Oooh and he is running for circuit court judge. Message left at his office.

Get back down to New Barn and Daves to pick up any tickets for the week.

Still need to hit VFW in Catlin and the lodge in Tuscola.

Wooohoo, just talked to Jim Turpin on 1400 WDWS in Champaign live on air. Informed  his audience of the E. Central town hall meeting. He asked who would be speaking and I mentioned Valinda Rowe, Mike Wiesman, Sheriff Hartshorn. To clarify he asked if illinoiscarry.com was an advocacey group in support of cc and I told him yes, we are a grass roots organization dedicated to restoring and advancing the right to carry in IL like 49 other states. He then asked well Wisconsin too right? I explained that they do atleast have open carry as a result of a WI supreme court decision.
What was even better is that when I was telling his screener what I was calling about as soon as I said right to carry he stopped me and said "take down this number" which I did and he said "fax me a copy of your flier for this event and I'll send it over to the promotion department and we'll start running commercial ads on 1400 for you"! Not to change the subject (keep workin' at it, Drylock, you have deserved that avatar), but...

While out eating this P.M. with wife, ran into an ex student/athlete who just happens to be in command of the Champaign PD Swat Team.  We had a great discussion re: LTC, which he is all for, informed him of the TH meeting coming up.  Didn't have a flyer with me, but will take a couple to the CPD tomorrow, + the CCSD, where a Detective who is a close friend of the family works, + the UIPD, where the Lt. in charge of the bomb squad is another ex student/athlete where I taught/coached. All are great people, and all support LTC.  Will ask them to post in the respective locker rooms, or at the very least, word of mouth.

Don't know anyone in the UPD, but will go there anyway, realizing that Urbana is a whole different breed of cat!

Why I neglected to do this until now, I have no idea, but maybe closer to the event is better??  (Sounds like a good excuse, anyway!)

WILL get it done!  Promise!!!

Thank you coach and please do if at all possible! I ran into a Champaign co officer at lunch today that I had not met before and gave him a flier. He said he would tell his folks there at the department about it and hang the flier. Which Sheriff Walsh is going to be there anyway but still it was nice to see the enthusiasm

My friends in Illinois, you are on a roll, keep it up! The uninformed and stupid said we would never have a LTC law in Missouri. We proved them wrong!

The Anti gun types are getting stomped all over this land. Go for it!

I don't know if this is worth it or not or if it even makes sense but I would kind of like to make a sign in sheet and then under each line where you sign in make another line with the question, "how did you find out about this event?". Or maybe we could just make some copies of a questionaire and ask them to fill it out and drop it in a box we can set up.
It seems that it would be helpful to know if there is any particular methods of advertising that worked especially well or especially not so well. That might come in handy for future events
Opinions?

Good idea.  By the way, I passed on the information to this to the newsletter editor of the Le Roy Rifle and Pistol Club (LRPC) and she is going to email all of the members.

Did you know that Hawthorn has no rooms at all tonight?  You could just knock on doors and invite people down if attendance is light.

I don't think it'll be a problem.  Sean and I should get there early if you need more hands.

lol Well heck, that's a good idea and ya, the more hands the better, just incase. My lil sis is going to greet folks at the door. I need help selling raffle tickets, need someone to direct traffic from outside because one of the parking lots is across the street from Hawthorne.
I'm bringing some copies of FOID apps and PA LTCF apps to hand out to folks.
I have the pamphlets that Molly sent in my truck and the Illinois carry banners as well. Any other literature anyone can think of that we might want on hand?

I have the pamphlets that Molly sent in my truck and the Illinois carry banners as well. Any other literature anyone can think of that we might want on hand?

There's also a BIG parking lot at Hooter's, which is right next door!

Did you know that Hawthorn has no rooms at all tonight?  You could just knock on doors and invite people down if attendance is light.  Posted Image

Now two flags fly above my land that really sum up how I feel. One is the colors that fly high and proud the red, the white, the blue. The other ones got a rattle snake with a simple statement made, don't tread on me, is what it says and I'll take that to my grave
