I read mixed reviews and Im told mixed things about these, are they worth it ? they are the only ones found around and IM not sure if its worth to get one. I read online what to look for, what markings and such and the one I saw seems to be the most recent one with tapco trigger, it seems to be more solidly built then the Wasr 10, but maybe its just me ... so Im not sure what to do. And people say an import ban will come soon so Im all confused.

If it helps the rifle does have some triangle on it and next to it year 1975 .. it dont seem to have a canted sight, and the mag doesnt wobble, thats all I can say, I didnt know what else to look for.

Any help appreciated.

They also have 1 Bulgarian AK47 for 2000 dollars, which seems to be wayyyyy overpriced.

Not if its a milled Arsenal limited production like the SA M-7 SF.

Depends on how much you're willing to spend, but if you're worried about quality, check GunBroker. There's still plenty of "quality" AK's to be had... you're just gonna pay for 'em.  

How much are they asking for the Wasr 10/63? Looks like on GunBroker, people are asking anywhere from $600-$750... Plus, what kind of accessories are with it?

I can get it brand new for $700. Its not worth going on gunbroker becuase its even higher prices then the store, considering shipping fee, FFL fee ... so its better to buy in store.

And Kip, thats the Bulgarian they got. Its by Arsenal.

seems high to me but these are odd times......I would look at the Kel-tech rifles myself, they are .223 use AR mags and MSRP is in the $600-$700 range.

Yeah, that's high alright... I can remember in '06 the Wasr's were selling anywhere from $225-$275 all day long at gunshows... at least in North Carolina...

There is no AKs around this area under $650 ... $650 for Hungarian foldstock, $700-$750 for Wasr 10/63 new version, $1200 for Yugo AK and 2000 for Bulgarian AK47. Thats it, nothing else is avalible, and I always wanted an AK and this is my chance but I just dont know what to do due to mixed reviews. And I heard about some import ban which means no more AKs which kinda of pushes me to buy one .. I just dont know.

And no Im not interested in .223 rifles, only 7.62 AK47.

Any interest in a Saiga I may be able to come up with one of those in 308 or maybe in a 7.62X39 if you are interested. Brand new for around $550 or $600 I think

That's about it, and don't worry about a little mag wobble.

Remove the muzzle break, and check the muzzle.  Mine turned out have some pitting.    Doesn't seem to affect practical accuracy, and one of these months I'll dig up someone who can recrown it.

That's about it, and don't worry about a little mag wobble.

Do you have a wasr ? how you like it ? I heard the 1st versions were trash, but the newer ones from 2008 and newer are much much better and built more solid with better parts ... thats the only AK avalible for decent price, and Im debating if I should buy it today or not. Its a gamble, either buy one now and in few months prices will drop and you will lose money or prices will go up and you will save money or you wont even be able to buy any in a month ...

Yes, I have a WASR-10/63, bought new (actually traded for) in '07.  Mine came with Tapco "Galil style" handguard and extensible T-6 AR style stock, neither of which I like all that much.  The stock does extend to a comfortable length for me.  (I am not an scrawney starved and undergrown commie conscript...:-). )  Also Tapco trigger group.  So, the compliance parts count dance has been done for me -- I can bolt anything I want on there without worrying about that.

The sights are straight. It didn't come with a narrow magwell, or a nut tack welded to the muzzle threads, or any other such ban era gelding.

For an AK, I'd call it "rough and ugly but functional".   My buddy's MAK-90 is prettier, but this will do.

I decided to skip on the wasr and managed to find a Lancaster AK 47 Red Russian, brand new for 800 dollars. Doing research I see that lancaster are solid brand with solid built AK's.
