Not sure where to place this post, Mods feel free to move it to whatever area you feel is appropriate.

What steps does one have to take in IL in order to legally sell a gun to another IL resident (a private sale)?

Thanks!

Just look at the summary on the back of your FOID.

Make sure they can legally posses (FOID card and old enough) there.

But... I think you were mis reading his post, I don't think he meant that they 'can' possess a FOID, that they can possess a firearm, which would mean they would have to already have it. && of course that they are the correct age for whatever it is they are attempting to purchase

"Why do I carry a handgun? Well, look at it this way -- I keep a fire extinguisher in my house. I don't expect to have a fire; indeed, it's highly unlikely. But in the unlikely event of fire, not having the means to stop the fire could result in serious property loss or personal injury to myself and my family. Neither do I expect to be a victim of violent crime; indeed, it's highly unlikely.
