The next sub-committee meeting will be on June 24th at the administration building (404 Elm St.) in Rockford it is right down the street from Memorial hall. It will start at 5:30 on the 5th floor. (same place the first one was) there will be no open forum no chance for the public to speak. We still need about 20-30 people to show up with buttons on. ALL the news outlets will be there. We have to pack that little room for the rest of the meetings. THEN when it goes to the full county board we will need a few 100 people again. Keep in mind we do have the votes to pass this, it is now all about media attention.

I just spoke with Randy Olson EVERYONE from other counties YOU have to get ahold of your board members and get them going on somthing like this. It is alot easier for 35 or 50 counties to fight the state than just one. If your board members want any info on the resolution, have them contact Tom Owens or Randy Olson. People in crook county do it anyways lets stir the pot a little bit. ALL you down staters with 2A friendly Counties get on them PLEASE this is what it is going to take to get this done.

Update on board members and their position on the resolution as of 6-10-08 After the Meeting we brought 2 more people to our side Dorothy Redd & Bob Hastings.

Already plan on contacting the Franklin Co. board, but I am sure that they will want to wait until at least the Winn.Co. board officially passes this resolution.

Hello to all....NEWS....Randy Olson will be on Sirrus radio tonight at 10:45 live. Go to www.nra.com and just listen. The audio streaming will be in the upper left. He will make a point that the NRA should come on board ASAP with us which I think they will. Also, anyone here with any clout with the NRA, have them get in touch with us. On another note, PLEASE have any county board chairman or board members contact us so we can send copies of our resolution to them to mirror. This is moving faster then expected and we will have 1 more public forum for input from others that have not yet spoken and we want to pack the house with supporters. We will make this a media event that has yet to be seen. FOX News would be a great asset to our cause if we could get them here. No date set as of yet but the board vote will come sometime late summer. We have time to muster up a big rally so let's get started.....Thanks for everything!!!!!

Well I went in and had a sit down with sherriff Meyers yesterday. I took him some applications from other states, so he could see how they were doing it. He requested some other information. I then immediatly called Big Chris & had him e-mail it to the sherriff. He said he had everything he needed. It sounds like I am going to have to have a sit down with the two candidates for states atourney sometime next week to see how they feel about the issue & how they will go about making this work. I think we are fortunate that it is an election year for them because we gun people are a huge chunk of the voter pool in Winnebago county. I am going to make it clear that whoever is with us, it will be known to all the voters. I can't believe I am going to say this but I may just vote for a Democrat this year if thats the way it has to be to make this work.

I find it insulting that you think that I just have this data at an arms reach and can just find this data immediately.

I had a good time this week, I'll definitely come up and fill a chair (maybe two) on the 24th.

This brings up an issue actually.... One of the nice things about the green buttons is that we had EVERYONE wearing them!!!

If a board member or media looked out into the audience, it was a sea of green.

If we start doing a mix and match of buttons colors and saying, it may appear that we have less numbers than we actually do...

Just something to think about...

I understand Slappy's point here, but I also understand that Diversity is a powerful tool as well. I will always have the green buttons on too!

As far as where did the upper Left button Come from? My local Gun Shop (Kodiak Outdoor Sports, Dixon, IL) is a NRA Sponsor Store. I'm on the Pro Staff because I'm in there all the time, I done some Iron work for gun Racks and Bow Racks, etc. He got his NRA Package the other day and the buttons were part of the deal for the owner. I just happen to be one of the folks he gave one to. They are from the NRA as a means of fostering Membership in the NRA, Which we should all be members of as well as the Illinois State Rifle Association (ISRA). I don't know if they are available from the NRA or not. I don't know if we liberate the image and use it is a good idea or not. I don't have a point of contact with the NRA to ask the question. I do like the button!

Money sent to the NRA helps fight for Gun Rights Nationally. That's good for all of us. Money sent to the ISRA helps fight for Gun Rights in this State. That's even Better for us! I know I'm preaching to the Chior, sorry, sometime I just get on a roll.

Back to Slappy's comment, I support the Sea of Green idea. I shows the Grassroot support for the movement. The other buttons shows additional support both locally (CAP) and Nationally (NRA). I wish the ISRA would establish a button and jump on in, the water's fine! This would show Grassroot, State and National Support for Concealed Carry in Illinois.

I'm a team Player, If you guys think this is a bad idea, I'll leave the others at home. Unity and Support is what I'm after for the Winnebago County CCW. Because I live in Lee County and I'm hoping this idea spreads like wildfire and gets to my county too!
