Holster Maintenance

Holster maintenance is something I never really thought about. Gun goes in, gun comes out. Yesterday I received my new Clinger Stringray (my holster of choice for most of my pistols) for my Glock 19. Adjusted the screws so the gun "snapped" into place and went to hang it on my belt.

I could barely get the clip over the belt, it was so tight.

Lately, the holster for my Glock 17 has been riding up on the belt, mostly because it is so long, sitting down can put upwards pressure on it. But it wasn't until this new holster that I realized the clip on the Glock 17 holster was tired.

Hmmmm....

Ordered another clip for the G17 holster and tomorrow I'm going through all my holsters and just kinda' check on the clips, make sure the screws are adjusted correctly and check for cracks.

Guess that will become a monthly thing for me now.

Anyone else do regular maintenance on their holsters?

If they're kydex, I wipe them out with a wet paper towel and then dry them off.

For any screws, I use vibra-tite after I figure out how much they need to be screwed in. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0088YEGXM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Most of my belt clips are made of metal so I haven't had any issues with how tightly they secure to the belt.
