DonP Posted October 10, 2017 at 03:38 PM Share Posted October 10, 2017 at 03:38 PM http://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/park-ridge/news/ct-prh-smolenski-representative-run-tl-0928-20170926-story.html(Haven't seen this posted yet, but if I missed it, let me know and I'll pull this duplicate) A Park Ridge businesswoman says she is looking to unseat a three-term state representative in next year's election. Republican Marilyn Smolenski announced this month her plans to run for the 55th State Representative seat, a position currently held by Democrat Marty Moylan of Des Plaines. Smolenski, who has lived in Park Ridge for nearly three years, is the owner of Nickel and Lace, a line of concealed-carry bodywear holsters for women, and a member of the Republican Women of Park Ridge. This is her first time running for elected office, she said. "I do sit on the board of the Republican Women of Park Ridge, and in some our meetings, we discussed how Marty Moylan was going to be running unopposed," Smolenski said. "I felt people in our district really deserved to have representation." "I'm a political outsider," she added. "People are really fed up with the political establishment in Illinois. They feel their quality of life isn't getting any better." Unlike the Democrats in Chicago, we cant vote for her if we don't live in her district ... but when she has a website up and running, I'd be happy to throw a few bucks her way to help send that weasel gun grabber Moylan packing. DonP Posted October 10, 2017 at 04:57 PM Author Share Posted October 10, 2017 at 04:57 PM I tracked down her Facebook page and that led to this. http://www.marilynforstaterep.com/ To quote my father; "She seems to have her head screwed on straight" ... and she has a business of designing and producing CCW wear for women, so her firearm "Bona Fides" are pretty good. Especially compared to her opponent.

crufflesmuth Posted October 11, 2017 at 01:56 PM Share Posted October 11, 2017 at 01:56 PM I live in Moylan's district. She has my support. I could understand Moylan voting against right to carry (and that is putting it mildly), but his authoring of an AWB - nope, he's gone! So tired of gun-grabbers.
