It isn't ultimate until it's been carried for about a year without any problems. But then...

If they had done this on the XL platform it would be very hard to keep in stock.

Why would they want to? It would defeat the purpose of keeping any external controls below the slide width.

i had a Performance Center Shield.  My buddy and I shot his regular Shield and mine outside at night and in an indoor range with the lights turned off to see if that would be the case.  There was no discernible difference in muzzle flash that we could see.  I feel like it's a nonissue.  YMMV

Like, oh, we built this concealable gun for self defense, but it fails to cycle or not break with 9mm +p ammo that everyone including Sig sells for self defense.

If Sig was still mostly German/Swiss they'd engineer a complex delayed action system or variable springing. A sign they've Americanized their pistol design house:

Meh, let's vent some pressure via porting the barrel!

My buddy has one and likes it alot. I shot one mag and thought it shot well, but felt the grip was too narrow for my big hands and felt awkward. The smallest CCW I can comfortably use is a double stack M&P9C.

 

Imho great gun and a nice step up from the Shield if you can handle a micro.

My 365 has pretty well regulated the Shield and the G43 to the status of safe queen.  I shoot it better, also.

How do those sights work?  With only rear sights which are flush mounted into the slide, how do you line up on the target?

It looks like you keep the rear tritium dot between the 2 fiber optic rails mounted behind the ejection port.

Anyone have any feedback on how well it works for quick shooting? I've always trained like the front dot might be the only thing you get a chance to cover the target with at most common self defense distances and time from holster to target.

I assume the rear site now takes that roll? Is this something to do with the tactical trend moving towards point shooting?

I just saw a demo of this gun and it seems that you line up the tritium dot in the rear most area of the site which has a window with circle.  Seems wierd, but they were hitting targets fairly well with it.

Going to have to try this as i am a Sig fan and love my 226 and 229.  I hope my range has a rental as this has more appeal than my 43. Sig over glock anyday!

I have one, its my new EDC. Bought the extended mag, put about 200 rounds through it. Absolutely love it.

Handled a sas at the gun shop today,and it would be tough for any gun maker to improve on a carry gun design with that capacity.the gun is smooth as a baby's butt with those flat controls,and that flush mounted fiber-tritium bullseye sight really pops even in a lit up room.if you were in the market for a p365 I suppose some buyers wouldn't mind bucking up another $100 or so for those features.this small shop wanted $630.

Yup, same thing, except the Springfield has the sight built into the slide, so it doesn't stick out.

Of all my handguns,my edc shield is the gun I trust my life with.the sas is the only carry out there,for my preferences,that could replace it.for now,I will wait and see.

Just not sure I would want my edc to be one where my pinky finger falls off the grip
It just makes for a very different feel
And yes I know about the extended mags
But those wiggle and aren’t as smooth as a extended grip to begin with

I have more Sig's then fingers and toes can count, not only but favorite, as soon as they have one with a hammer I'll buy it.   

We all have our preferences...

Yup, same thing, except the Springfield has the sight built into the slide, so it doesn't stick out.

I think you meant to say the Sig has it built in to the slide
