Red Line: "Vicious" Attack On Senior Citizen Has Cops Asking For Help; Victim May Lose Eyesight

Chicago cops are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who “viciously” attacked a senior citizen aboard a North Side Red Line train yesterday. The woman may lose her eyesight as a result of the attack, CPD Chief Communications Officer Anthony Guglielmi said. Images of the suspect, released by CPD on Friday afternoon, are shared throughout this report.

Absolutely horrible! They did catch him at least.

Some of my journalism contacts have told me that other occupants on the train in other cars/in the train station reported that the attacker was saying derogatory or aggressive things towards white people before or after the attack.

I wonder if that will be reported in the "official" media or the police report. If it is true, then it should also be charged as a hate crime.

Passing gun control laws to try to keep guns out of the hands of criminals is not only futile but it is moot.

Vicious street thugs don't need a firearm to brutalize their victims, but their victims did need a firearm to defend themselves, but were deprived of it.

And I'm also interested in what Tom Rooney, Don Harmon and Kathleen Willis are going to do about this ?

Armed Robber 'Stabs, Cuts At' Victim On CTA Platform In Oak Park
Police say the victim refused to give their belongings to the armed robber.
What is Tom Rooney, Don Harmon and Kathleen Willis doing about this ?

I mean, it was the "victim"'s fault, had they just given the robber whatever they wanted, none of this would have happened. /s

I think the media is going out of its way to try to convince people that this isn't affecting tourism in the slightest. But you'd have to be crazy to choose Chicago as a tourist destination now. Public transportation is dangerous and the shopping district is dangerous. Eventually tourism will dry up unless Illinois gets serious about crime, stops treating violent offenders as victims and starts locking them up.

The thing about all these "soft-on-crime" anti-gun constituents, they elect politicians who enact policies that put a place into a death-spiral, and when things get bad, the soft-on-crime anti-gunners just move.

They're like ****** locusts leaving a swath of destruction wherever they go.

How has no one posted about this incident in this thread?

"Woman with concealed carry license shoots, kills would-be robber at Chicago bus stop, police say"

Incidentally, the reason that now-deceased idiot most likely targeted the woman was because he expected that since she was getting ready to ride the bus, a gun-free zone, that she wouldn't be armed.

Thus, demonstrating the ABSOLUTE necessity to get rid of the CTA prohibition for concealed carry, because it literally makes those waiting for buses sitting targets, unless they, like that woman, decide to break the law in order to preserve their own safety and lives.

There have been multiple threads about that DGU.

But NOT in the Crime on CTA/Mass Transit thread, which would seem kind of an obvious place for it. After all, a bus stop IS part of CTA property.

Another way the Chicago Democratic Machine makes public transportation doubly unsafe - the vote-buying revolving door justice system:

Michael Curry, 30 was arrested and charged with swinging a knife and cutting a 52-year-old man during a robbery at the Chicago Red Line station. The man suffered a 7-inch laceration to his upper arm, according to police. Officers arrested Curry nearby, and he was positively identified by the victim as the man who attacked him. He was charged, jailed, and held on a high bond. But, during a hearing at Belmont and Western three weeks later, Judge Marvin Luckman ruled that there was no probable cause in the case and he threw the case out.
Curry was set free.
Six days later, he repeatedly stabbed a volleyball player.
