Should applicant use old or new isp certificate-2014 class

Recommended Posts

Hi folks, looking for advice or personal experience on this one.

Student took the class in 2014, has never applied for CCL. Now wants to apply.

Should he submit the original certificate (this original version is obviously no longer in use) or should I complete the newer version of the certificate with the original training date on it?

Just trying to avoid any Springfield pitfalls for him if possible.

Thanks for any help ya'll can provide.

Is there a time limit how long you are able to wait before the cert is no longer valid?

From reading prior forum posts, my understanding has been there is not a time limit. However, for applications, if the cert version has changed, the newest version needs to be the one submitted. IANAL. I could certainly be wrong.

I've had students apply almost 5yrs after the training date. The instructor only need use the current cert with the ORIGINAL training date on it and it will be approved. There is no limit on the time for the original training. I have much more to say on this, but won't in fear of making things worse down the line.

If you use the old cert it will be rejected....
