NRA Basic Shotgun Instructor Course Oct 1-2, 2016

 

Location: Sinnissippi Rod and Gun Club, 23181 Moline Rd, Sterling, IL 61081.
Note: Sponsored by A.R.C. THIS IS A TWO DAY COURSE! The range is outdoors. Dress appropriately. See course description for details. Lunch is provided both days.

 

Course Description:
NRA Basic Shotgun Instructor: This 2 day course includes Basic Instructor Training (BIT) (6hrs) and the Shotgun Instructor Course (11hrs.) BIT covers NRA policies and procedures, basic public speaking skills, training methodology, use of a training team and training aids, organizing a course, building a budget, and finally preparing to teach. Successful completion of the Shotgun Instructor Course certifies you to teach the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a shotgun safely, the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling, shotgun parts and operation, ammunition, shooting fundamentals, range rules, standing positions, shooting ariel targets, shotgun shooting sports, cleaning the shotgun, and continued opportunities for skill development. Performance evaluated based on the ability to handle firearms with confidence, use of appropriate training aids, following the lesson plans, etc.
Schedule: Saturday 8am-6pm Sunday 8am-6pm Pre-Course qualification is conducted prior to the first range exercise. You can qualify with any shotgun you wish.
Materials to bring: Your gun 100-200 rounds of ammunition (target loads) Hat, Eye and Ear Protection, Sunscreen, Appropriate Range clothing. (2) 1.5” Binders. NO OPEN TOES SHOES! NO LOW CUT SHIRTS!
Materials Provided: Course Materials, Targets.
If you are traveling and require accommodations, there are several reasonable priced hotels in the area. Contact us for additional information. This is a Professional Level Course! Safety violations or poor attitude will result in expulsion from the class and no refunds are issued. Course Cost: $350 + $20 Range Fee.
