If not official seems close based on below. Don't know impact on gun departments but hope Bass Pro will have Cabelas' lower prices or at least ship Cabelas stock to Bass Pro stores for online orders. http://www.foxbusine...ved-by-ftc.html

Official. BassPro shareholders approved the merger:

Don't know anything else besides the above approval.

That sucks

Bass pro has Commie rules for IL residents.

FYI an IL resident cannot order ammo online nor can it be shipped to store for pick up.

If it's not on the shelf your SOL

I quit doing business with Bass Pro a few years ago

Looks like Cabelas is dead to me too

Yeap. found that out too a while back. At least with Cabelas you could do ship to store.

Cabelas will ship to your home as long as they have your FOID on file.

They updated?  Been several months since I did an ammo order with them. Good on them.

*edit* wow they really hide that info away. Nothing in the standard shipping info link.

If ordering ammunition, please send to:
Cabela's
ATTN: CR Gun Department
One Cabela Drive
Sidney, NE 69160
Fax: 1-888-252-3989
E-Mail: crgundept@cabelas.com

Unless it's changed you can't order online it has to be by phone.

Cabelas has been dead to me since their bait and switch a few years ago on Black Friday with a Nikon Scope.  I don't mind Bass Pro but don't really shop there so don't have much experience to dislike them from.  I do avoid Dick's Sporting Goods and probably will avoid Dunhams from now on.  I recently bought a Marlin 795 from Dunhams, and I really disliked being basically treated like a criminal far beyond what the state of IL requires (made me wait 2 calendar days instead of 24 hours, had to sign all kinds of additional paperwork, etc.).

My go-to places have been Rural King and Walmart for in-store, and Freedom Munitions, Palmetto State Armory, and Sportsman's Guide for online.  Freedom Munitions p***** me off last time I ordered (took almost 2 weeks to ship, and was never notified there would be a delay) so I've been taking some time off from them, I think they've expanded beyond what their current staffing can handle.

Yep.  Did that recently to avoid the Cook County "screw over legal gun owners" tax.  Shipping during a promo was much less than the extra tax would've been.

You have to email them a picture of your FOID, and you have to order it over the phone (b/c their online system can't handle it.)  But if they have an "online only" deal, they will honor it for you over the phone if you ask for it.
